I rate Norman. He is silky smoothe running the ball, has a elegant pass and a nice short kicking game. I see Moses with a potential higher ceiling but Norman as a safer bet. Moses is far more rocks and diamonds.
With Hayne not around however I like the idea of Norman at fullback and Brown being blooded. It brings an extra playmaker in and he would not have to do a lot young Brown.

1 Norman
2 Ferg
3 MJ
4 Guth
5 Jennings/Bevan/Hoffman/Sivo/Parry/Dunster

6 Moses
7 Brown
I quite like that combo except for Mennings. It would be nice if he moved on but if he did we'd probably be silly enough to throw his money at Hayne. At least Mennings dosent have a media profile.

Another concern would be BA moving Ferguson to fullback. Would be a stupid move but dont discount our coaching team.

BA appears to like having a fullback with some play making skills which Ferguson has absolutely none of. He has regularly picked Smith as our “3rd” or “4” back up option when Hoffman is a safer option (smith is poor under the highball and position).

If Hayne doesn’t re-sign, I wouIdnt be surprised if Norman goes to fullback with one of the young halves starting.

Yep. Suggested by Gus111. Seems a good move. I thought Norman was pretty good at fullback.

Anyhows I dont see our 1-7 as an issue. Its decent and if guys find form it has potential to be top 5 backlines.

Bigger issue is forward and hooker.

8 Alvaro
9 Kaysa
10 Terepo
11 Lane
12 Tepai
13 Brown

14 Taka
15 Jnr
16 Manu
17 Mannah

That is how id roll with hope that Kafusi, Evans, Niakuore have huge offseasons and displace Taka and Mannah based on becoming more explosive players.
Confident Tepai and Lane can go from 6/10 guys to 8/10.
With Terepo and Alvaro we know what we get. Same goes for Brown.
And as much as Mahoney seems the future I would still open rnd 1 with Kaysa being his last chance for now. I like his energy and pittbull like aggressiveness.

If our starting pack can hold there own then bringing Manu and Jnr off the bench would be damaging. Imagine if Evans turns up who should not be completely discounted. And Kafusi was playing nrl at 18yld. He is 194cm and was about 104kgs. I guarantee he will be over 110kgs next season. It would be quite a brutal pack. Big hard running and powerfull.
Thats 3 powerfull props over 110kgs who run hard with Manu also a powerfull runner.

Thurston and Cronk are far superior to Norman, without the baggage/drama/porn credentials/gangster lifestyle that Norman threw at us while here.

If I could bring JT out of retirement or Norman id chose Norman. Thurston was a huge liability in defense.

If we had the worst roster why were we among the premiership favourites at the start of the year?

It's almost the same side that won 16 games last year ffs. Half our team underperformed. It might be all the coach's fault but there is nothing wrong with the talent in our squad.

I think one or two players can make others look better than they really are. The Storm is a prime example.

Semi's individual brilliance masked a number of deficiencies. Gutherson this season wasn't the player he was the previous year. This may return next season. Some new rule interpretations didn't help our cause, but those rule interpretations don't appear to be returning to 2017 levels.

So you agree adding a powerful winger, a big middle forward and try scoring edge forward may help us improve substantially in 2019.........

You'd have to think so, but I think we're still weak in a couple of spots to be a contender, but we should at worst be competitive with the current roster.
