I was one of the skeptical nay-sayers with good reason.

What I've seen of Hayne so far has been nothing short of amazing.

But what observers need to take in is that Hayne still has a long way to go.

Next week, especially in the second half of next week's games, most teams are going to bring in the big guns.

This is were we will see how Hayne truly stands out after getting hit by the harder hitting players that have been waiting on the sidelines.

Maybe a year on the training squad for this season might be the best that Hayne can hope for.

And if he cracks it next year, there'll be even more interest in Hayne. An even more interest from talent scouts in the U.S. to converge on other NRL or NYC talent.

So I'd hold off until the player cut-offs before getting an NFL Gamepass season subscription if ones intentions are only to watch Hayne.

I don't see him being on any teams practise squad, well not to start the season anyway. One team or another will give him a shot on their 53-man roster, then if he doesn't work out I suggest then he will be moved to the practise squad.

I hear this morning that C.7 through 7mate are looking to cover every 49ers game this season.

do they really think that people are gonna watch the whole game to see the punt returns?

.

It's the 49ers, of course they will!!

I was thinking about Hayne's upright running style, there have been guys that have been successful with that style before, I wonder if he could be a Eddie George/Willis McGahee type

as far as i'm aware no preseason games are aired in australia - pay tv or free to air

game pass is an option, or there are plenty of streams if you care to look hard enough

Lol and it was a massive stinker. Everyone seems super high on Bucs and their new QB, but I don't know.

Winston is a damn talented QB. You can tell just by the confidence he has in releasing before his receivers have even made their break. He knows where they're running and knows he'll hit the spot.

The issue is that he is a moron off the field and he'll go the same path as Johnny Manziel eventually. It's highly doubtful that he'll be able to stay out of trouble.

While there were plenty of questions over Mariota in this years draft, I think he'll have a much longer and decorated career.

Yeah man totally agree. He does seem like a leader, but was watching Jay Gruden the other day talk about how the kid had a massive problem with decision making and bad throws leading to interceptions. Last season he had something mid 20 touchdowns and approx 18 interceptions.

That is just ridiciulous. Not sure why he would be selected 1st overall, espeically since he only played like two seasons in college and had a ton of incidents lol.

Preseason games always are. That said if your a bucs fan you would have been happy they dominated like they did.

As a Bengals fan I was just happy to see aj mccarron get some snaps with the hope that he develops into aonething better than Dalton. Next week I hope Dalton scores on his first two drives so mccarron can have snaps for the rest of the game

Interesting to hear how the waivers process works. Given that I can't see Hayne not playing NFL this year, someone will pick him up as a kick returner/novelty act. The other thing I find interesting about him is the way his running style is criticised, his step has a lot to do with his upright running and it looks like that is something that has been coached out of the NFL. Anyway it will be interesting to see how he goes, I'm loving the butthurt flowing from Australian NFL fans all over the internet :)

His upright running style is not a huge deal for outside runs or punt returns, it is between the tackles that matters. You can't just trot Hayne in to the game and call plays to his strengths as the defence will be ready (mind you the left side of the 49ers OL is beastly, so maybe you can). To get some solid time at RB, the OC will need to be confident that he can pick up short yardage inside and also be confident that he can block for Kaep. He is proving that in space he is right up there, now for the next step...

Will it be that hard to pick up though? With another years training I'm sure he could get there.
