But will they sign only to do nothing again? They could go out and get a RB from just about anywhere that would have more knowledge of the game and positioning.

They never trusted Hayne, doubt they would trust him when they do not have any options.

Could be true but doubt Hayne would go tell the world he should be back on Tuesday if he wasn't given advice from the team that he would be back.

Probably for the best. Having him straight in the team was probably too much too soon. Especially on the niners team that's falling to pieces.

That should upset the NRL forum. Doesn't SF realize this is all about Hayne learning?

We have any idea who will replace Reggie?

It's a damn shame. He was a weapon at Saints. Loved him at Detroit, but was just too injury prone.

At least he won a SuperBowl, & f**ked a hobbit.

His best days were in college.

Whilst not a complete bust, when you consider the amount of hype around him coming into the draft, he would have to be up there with Jamarcus Russell & Ryan Leaf.

Reggie Bush is 30 years old, has been in the league contributing to teams for nearly a decade now, and when he was healthy and and in his prime, he was an impact play maker for his teams. To call him a bust, and put him on the same level as Russell and Leaf is utterly ridiculous.

Gabbert/Hayne combo looked better in exhibition season that Kaep/Hayne. Gabbert even threw some short passes to Hayne.

Get this going and we could see the start of something good. Positive yards for the 49ers even.

I don't like the way Hayne gets clear and then stops and turns for the pass - makes him a sitting duck. If he can get the ball in when he is in motion on a real route then it's all up to him.

Totally agree. Kind of a unique player with incredible athletic ability that doesn't fit into the traditional set of skills for any one certain position making things slightly complicated for those building a team. If Hayne was starting his NFL journey at age 21 you could probably say the same thing. Christian McCaffrey is another coming out of Stanford that fits the same mold IMO. Not an NFL RB, not a slot receiver, not a TE, but can return kicks and make things happen in space.

Ahhh, the elusive Gaskins/Droughn supporter.

Go on.

You're talking up how Blaine f**kING Gabbert, maybe the WORST Qb the NFL has seen in the last 5 years, and a practise squad member could be the start of something good in San Fran... Christ almighty
Blaine Gabbert and Jarryd Hayne. Christ on a bike

Did you miss that?

Put things in context. What would you do given the players available at the 49ers?

Pinch Dujuan Harris from the Saints PS if he's still there, pick up Pierre Thomas to partner him, decent 1-2 punch for a team scraping the bottom of the barrel. I was hoping the Steelers might grab Thomas as the #3 with Bell done.
