The whole click bait is nothing more then sooking, the club has been bagged in the media for the right reasons lately. If they don't wanna be hammered do things right!!!!!

Secondly Kate MyClmont is one of if not the best and most respected investigative journo's in the business she doesn't just make things up. Finding this about Parramatta would've been the last thing on her mind as it was for the Bulldogs.

she's been after Spagnolo for years

accused him of dodgy deals in 2009 http://forums.leagueunlimited.com/showthread.php?t=328145

Its rather ironic that all this happened in 2009.

You know, the year we played in the FG and got beaten by those dirty salary cap cheating scum.

Really? We signed Sandow in 2010? Hoppa at the end of 2011? Where does it say 2009?

Not an a eels fan, but I saw on Ch10 interviewing the players, Lussisk was asked about an investment property he purchased with some discount given?? my god, so a discount on a car, coffee machine, or TV is now part of the salary cap? What're is the responsibility with these player managers and these 'unwritten' deals???

I don't know how people are saying what has gone on is not rorting

A fake company, our ex-chairman and his associates setup, used to pay players ... if we read a story about the Dogs doing that we'd be all over those cheating merkins like flys on poo

Yeah that's my opinion too. It appears the chairman was organising secret payments.

Lucky we only won the spoon during this period, as if we won the comp there would be a massive up-roar tonight in league circles

Of course it's rorting....but whether there is sufficient evidence to establish that is not quite so certain.

All we know for sure is that associates of the former Chair paid money to some Eels players, and some of these deals appear to have not been registered with the NRL. If the club can be shown to have known about those deals (even if the club had nothing to do with organising them), we'll be in shit. If there is evidence of involvement in organising the deals, we'll be in more shit.

Not necessarily true. It depends what the agreement between the players and the third party was, and whether the club had any role in negotiating it.

You could have a TPA between a player and a party who is not an associate of the club, but if that deal was contingent on the player playing for the Eels, it may well be cap-relevant. And obviously, if the club played a role in the negotiation of the deal, it is definitely cap-relevant.

But as per my first post....it depends what can be proven.

and i doubt Spagnolo will help the NRL out if something dodgy went on

we'd get get punished for that still even though the control freak let the Broncos off because Gee decided not to co-operate

The shit hit the fan when Denis Fitzgerald got the boot. None of this would have happened under his watch..Just sayin`.

He was booted because the club was going nowhere.
Support your mates Pete. That's fine. But open you eyes a little more.
You may be right, but the reason people voted Denis out, was because we were going down the same path as Wests.
How have they gone?

Suity

Going what ? West as in West's Ashfield or West's Campbelltown, or do you mean the Balmain side of the West's Tigers joint venture.

Either way, it isn't Denis who was the biggest loss, it was those in the football operation underneath him. Hilly an others in the football operation. The vast number in the league club operation, all booted within 6 months, most in he off season after the GF, we removed so many members of staff that had so much experience.

Was it truly that they were seen as Fitzgerald's people or was it that they might have objected to the shonky way things operated at the league club and football club.

Bob Bentley from HR manager at Blue Mountains council, to HR Manager at the League Club (that put out the call for a CEO) then to CEO of the League club. These things raised alarm bells, and it would appear that those of us who were questioning the actions during this time might start to feel a little justified in our suspicions.

And what does that have to do with supposed click bait for Parramatta that she couldn't give 2 shits about?

you said

Finding this about Parramatta would've been the last thing on her mind as it was for the Bulldogs.

i said she has been after Spagnolo for years and gave you a link to her last piece on him

she has suspected him of being dodgy for ages and would have been trying to find something to nail him on

Agree with your views Mark and this would have been part of the reason why the overall culture of the club continued to deteriorate.
