Respectfully, why would Gould come to us ?
What salary would he demand?
What would be his demands from the board in terms of investment ?

It would take a massive change for the club, that no doubt, would expose the weaknesses and loyalty's within, and I don't think those in power would welcome such a change.

Gould is primed for a position within the NRL i feel. If not, a club on the up, with a progressive vision. Not with a club that has underperformed for a decade, lacks a real identity or home ground, and is as at now in the midst of being a spoon contender.

I hate saying it, but is true. A loss this week, which is quite possible, puts us with GC and the Dogs for spoon favorites.

I really don’t know how to he would answer that question Dennis . Perhaps at the time he was attempting to instill some type of positive spin as to why the J.V. gave Mary the extension - ‘ rally behind the flag ‘ so to speak .

And the fans themselves , well we are such an ignorant bunch aren’t we , as we continue to pay our dollars to see our boys in the Big Red V go around week after week .

I legitimately hate Johnston with the same passion I do Mary.

My gripe is that our problems at SGI are all self inflicted in the name of old boys protecting their positions within the club. We should be a major force in the top 4 and we would be if we had professional management and TPA.

If we go back to the Bennett era, we saw a successful SGI under the football manager/coach of Bennett and we did have TPA for a few of our players including Gasnier. club officials expelled from the Bennett management team were Mary and Craig Young who today wield significant influence over SGI.

History would suggest otherwise. The list of excuses started PRE season, with JDB... Add injuries to Friz, Norman, Widdop, and co, and SOO reps, Mary's defence counsel is armed well

Not many people rate McGregor on this forum.
I have never rated him and am dirty about how JD was treated.
St. George missed an wonderful opportunity to appoint a high class coach with which to build a premiership winning dynasty.
Instead, they appointed McGregor....

SGI has missed the opportunity to sign good coaches like Bennett and Hasler just because of old boys club deals. We need a clean out.

Even if they didn't want to spend the money on Hasler or Bennet we still had other options.
Obviously Demetriou would be an option but Toovey would also have been a really strong appointment.
Listening to him as a commentator, he is very astute and has genuine knowledge of the game.
A real tyro with laser beam passion.
We could have done a lot worse.
