the clubs are well within their rights to question the protocols and resources of the national team..it's the national team ffs, they should be more defined.. all clubs are used to a football manager who is responsible for ensure there is at least some level of responsibility by the club to ensure no mischief occurs, after all it's their brand that gets damaeged...where was the kiwi football manager?

on another note, this has to put the spotlight on the melbourne storm and a possible drug culture down there that gets missed because they're away from the sydney media spotlight, and the melbourne media don't care about them

Don't remember any football managers out with club players at 5am. Ffs they are grown men not babies.

This is totally on the players and if anything you would question the club because there is no way it is the first time these 2 idiots would have been in and around the drugs and party scene.

They seem to have a nose for it....

I know something ridiculous when I read it. How do these CEOs and bank managers maintain their grip on the cocaine market? When the Bikies and other organise crime groups try to get in on the action do the bank managers tool up and clip a few people? Lol come the f**k on. Maybe a bored or desperate business man occasionally gets involved but suggesting ceo's and bank managers run the cocaine market in Australia is up there with the most ridiculous comments ive seen on this site.

I meant people like that, wasnt meant to be taken litterally. I meant that the Bikies usually did the speed. Things may have changed a little since Miami Vice though

Hahaha yes there have been a few rather large developments that may have made an impact on that scene since the 80s.

Illicit drugs have nothing to do with ASADA unless a positive test has been returned 'in competition'. The NRL test for illicit drugs, not ASADA.

Why is that the case? Coke is a prohibited substance.

There's likely to be a court finding identifying the substance - probably with a police lab report. Then you have CCTV footage of them ingesting it plus some public admissions from the players. Pretty solid evidence there. ASADA didn't need positive tests on the peptides thing.

The clubs trying to shift some blame to the NZRL is fairly ridiculous imo. These are grown men and it was 5 am, do they need to be locked in their room with a guard outside the door? Windows barred?

because outside of competition illicit drugs are not taken to enhance performance, which means it is outside ASADA's mandate.

You are right.

ASADA can't do anything.

That spineless piece of shit running the NRL sure can though. Anyone still think this clown is doing a good job?

Does "out of competition" depend on the drug? I imagine if they took a steroid on Sun night it would be in competition?

The worst thing about the NRL is that they give first timers zero weeks, but will hand out (or expect) bans for any indiscretions if caught by the media.

According to NRL doing blow which is illegal to possess is better than the legal acts of bubbling and dog rutting by a factor of 4.

What I think is refreshing to see is the club actually making a stand and disciplining the players themselves and not waiting for the nrl to make there decisions. The players have accepted responsibility even before being charged at this point. It's definitely not a good look and I'm disappointed with those 2 players. SKD has come out and said the media allegations are incorrect.

Yes quick moving by Storm. But to be honest, their hand was forced.

Don't be fooled by SKD's clarification. Hasn't denied the bag was his, has he?

Yeah. If anything it is the fault of the two clubs.

We lend them two kiwis to play for their clubs and they develop them into giant men-children who can't act responsibly without strict supervision.
