The way those guys on the Cumberland Throw were talking him up in the off season you’d think we signed Cameron Smith.
As i said over there, they were creaming about plays that came off against our nsw cup team. Nrl defense is a bit better

Old man river (canal?) gets a season-ending write up in the SMH - and looks like his 2024 contract has increased by a further $50,000 😯!

Elsewhere, Parramatta are expected to ramp up their own search for a short-term hooker signing before the August mid-season transfer deadline after confirmation Josh Hodgson will miss the rest of the season due to a neck injury.

Hodgson underwent surgery recently and hasn’t played since mid-May, leaving the Eels short at dummy-half despite the emergence of rookie No.9 Brendan Hands.

Hodgson, 33, has already taken up an option in his contract for 2024 valued at approximately $450,000.

Time for all players to have their wages made public. The EPL have it and all other major sport outside of Australia. Why are our guys so special?

I’m all for that.
I love how in the US sports the fans know pretty much every detail of players’ contracts. It’s public knowledge how much they are earning each year, how long it’s for, whether there is a player/club option and how much is guaranteed.

You can see how your club is spending its salary cap. I’m doubt the players Union will ever agree to it though.

Bring in a player draft too. That’s a great off season spectacle in itself. They’ve even made movies about it with Baseball and NFL.

Players are snowflakes....

They can't share that information as they will be found out to be either rorting the cap or get paid waaaaay too much for the way they play.

They don't want to change the signing dates as the players need to know in advance when they are changing clubs.......

Would like a draft not sure how it would work as the clubs develop their juniors.

Off contract draft maybe with the current club having last right like in the NBA
