I don't, hence why I never made the claim that ALL Australians aren't racist - You're the one making claims without evidence - To say 50% of Australians are racist is a generalisation, IMO.

I haven't said anything about the validity of Goodes claim he is being booed because of race, I merely pointed out your generalisation of Australians being 50% racist, which, IMO, is wrong (notice how I threw in the IMO part...?)
Ok 'IMO' then.
Anything else to side track about?
Having lived in both countries, Australia is worse in that regard. However NZ definitely still has its problems, it's not some kind of muticultiral utopia. In terms of indigenous recognition though it's not even comparable.
Agreed, NZ is light years ahead.

Oh wait, IMO.

There we go, you're learning - It makes a big difference with that tacked onto the end of a general statement like "50% of Australians are racist"

Why should we? Rugby League IS the moral high ground in this issue, we should be trumpeting to all and sundry how much more accepting and diverse we are than them.

And I'll agree in this instance... I think it's a silly fight to get into though as it so often blows up in a codes face when they trumpet it. Petty point scoring cheapens the issue too.

Justin Hodges has dark skin and gets booed all the freaking time.

Is it because of his race???

NO!!!!!!!

Hodges gets booed for the way he plays the game and some people think he is a wanker because of it.

Absolutely nothing to do with his skin colour.

Goodes take note.

Serious answer: New Zealand.

Yothu Yindi sang of an Australian treaty which was broken. We have a real treaty in NZ (although controversial to some).

Auckland had major problems with racial violence between East Asians and people of Polynesian descent for ages didn't it?

I'm not saying New Zealand isn't better, it probably is, but it's got its problems and just because a relatively observed treaty is held between the establishment and the native peoples does not mean other issues can be glossed over and everything declared rosy.

As for the Person who brought up London - It's nothing like the rest of the UK. Go to Liverpool or Sheffield or Birmingham and see how racist they are there. The kind of 'casual' racism I've seen 'up North' boggles the mind.

I honestly think Australia is more Xenophobic than racist. It seems like 'model minorities' like Maronites, Hongkonese and Vietnamese are readily accepted as 'Australian' whilst groups that hold more readily to themselves aren't as accepted. The Bizarre thing is is that these newly minted 'Australians' tend to be more overtly racist than Anglo-Celtic Australians. Ask a Vietnamese or a Chinese descended person from Brisbane's southern reaches what they think of Indigenous Australians and it will be far more colorful than an Anglo-Celtic answer in just as thick an Australian accent.

Great comparison
They've had roughly the same career length.
Hodges has been booed almost his entire career, it didn't take long for people to dislike him for his arrogant swagger and his grubby play. As much as he is disliked he isn't actually booed every time he touches the ball
Goodes was actually respected for the majority of his career, he won best and fairest awards and was considered a role model in the game. In the last few years his become hated for being a dirty player, a flog, a wanker. He gets booed every time he touches the ball gets called ape and told to go back to the zoo.
Hodges boos have been constant throughout his career
Goodes boos started in 2013

I originally was of the opinion that he was just a dickhead and it wasn't racially motivated, but after actually doing some research on the topic I would have to say the 4000 indicators would point to racism.

The 'but there are 70 other Aborigines that don't get targeted' argument is complete rubbish too.

Same here. I'll admit being ignorant on the issue but I think the research has helped open my eyes a little bit, and a lot of people need to do that as well to get a perspective on it.

people are really struggling with the whole

person x gets booed for reasons therefore person y cant get booed for different reasons

OR

person x doesn't get booed for reasons so person y isn't getting booed for those reasons either

Hopefully they will get there eventually

The merkin afl fan in Perth who told him to "get back to the zoo" is claiming it wasn't a racist comment lol. I suppose he could have been giving him some tourist advice about visiting our lovely South Perth zoo to see its amazing conservation work?

haha I remember my dad cranking that on the way to school on the old triple a murray country radio station.

Good stuff.

On a serious note, anybody who has anything against anybody else due to the colour of their skin should be put down.

What if the colour is red and its on their necks?

'Political correctness gone mad' and 'I didn't think anyone would hear it over the booing'

Absolute deadshit

It's a funny old place really, it's probably one of the most multi cultural places in the world, has a history based on immigration and at times can be incredibly racist, yet at other times will overcome that racism to stick up for the underdog. I was once on a train home late one night and two transit police were giving an aboriginal fellow a hard time for no good reason, the rest of the carriage started booing them and telling them to leave him alone, tne cops didnt know what to do lol. Any other time the drunks on tne train would have probably been calling the aboriginal guy! A great land of diversity, in geography and attitudes is how I would sum up Australia.
