Another anecdotal conversation with a local solar power sales person yesterday about rugby-league. Two main points brought up were: this guy was also a rugby league junior in Merewether at 16 that went over to union due to all of his mates doing so(social relevance being the reasoning for changing codes) & 2. He loudly exclaimed "WHAT!?" when I informed that the Lions were to tour the South Pacific this year and are not playing the Australian Kangaroos.

Lol. Good one PR! I like it ! It's genuinely concerning what's going on. Apparently a more independent RLIF is at play these days yet massive mistakes are still occuring with the international scheduling. So frustrating!

9month till the tour...and nothing has been finalized..

Difficult to sell TV rights when there isnt anything to sell

But personally I do prefer that RL matches in Nov be played in the northern hemishpere

Dedicated RLIF Rep weekends

We still have a unneccessary bye during season

If you put that together as a fortnight perfect mini rep period for northern hemishpere teams to come down

I personally prefer 2 rep fortnights seperated by 2 or 4 NRL rounds

Absolutely. It's like only the hard-core rugby league fans should enjoy the party and bugger the rest. It's like hiding the code from the greater public as of late! Grandfinal day should be celebrated and known in Sydney. I previously mentioned a designated race on the Saturday b4 the GF featuring jockeys wearing the silks showing all main RL club jumpers strips. Call it the NRL challenge or NRL Grandfinal Prelude. .... etc. That's effective cross promotion and gains a stronger grandfinal vibe on this weekend.
