Lawrence joins the ever growing list of blokes that have played for Aus before their state. good on him, quality player. it's a good team, though... a good mix of form and class. i look forward to watching them go live.

Lawrence would have most likely played origin this year if he hadn't gotten injured. I don't think he'll let anyone down, as long as he has fully recovered from his injuries.

Shouldn't this thread be moved to the international section??

I'd have Yow Yeh ahead of Boyd but I'd imagine Jharal's injury counted against him.

Would have gone Taylor ahead of Williams too.

Otherwise I'm happy with the side and will be supporting them as loud as ever.

Congrats to Uate, Galloway and Williams on making their test debut. Hopefully they do us proud.

Moffo - Manly would have more reps. if Lyon, Hoppa and the Stewart brothers made themselves available. As I've discussed elsewhere, Ballin could have been selected over Farah but there's no way Sheens was ever going to select against his golden boy.

Perverse - Lawrence joined that list last year.

I too can't believe people are complaining about Galloway. If any prop there is undeserving it is Shillington, not KG.

Do people base opinions on players from a few years ago and then stick with it? Because if you watched.any football this season you would not belittle his selection.

Probably deserves the bench spot ahead of Cronk. They were never going to rob Lockyer and Thurston playing one last game together on home soil though.

I don't really see him playing hooker though. Don't get me wrong I don't think he's better than Locky or Thurston but I thought one of those two would have needed some rest especially Thurston with his dodgy knee. Can't argue with Cronk getting the bench spot ahead of DCE. Anyway it should be a good series.

I really rate Lawrence. He is behind Lyon and Hodges, but ahead of Inglis due to his commitment, though Inglis has the raw ability over everyone.

Not a bad side really.

Lawrence is a good selection. As is Galloway, he's been pretty good for Wests Tigers.

Dont know about Shillington though.

Uate and Tony Williams are a disgrace and shouldn't be playing for Australia

Fair point, on the basis that they both played for Tonga and Fiji not too long ago, says it all really about the guys who run the International game.

But good luck to both of em.

Personally Williams shouldve just made his intentions for Australia. He was very promising at Parramatta and I thought one day he play for Australia and NSW. Good on him.

The thing is, he did make his intentions to the arl. He knocked back tonga for years, even played against them in 2008 when he played for the junior kangaroos before the 2008 rlwc. He was informed playing for tonga would not ruin his future NSW and aus chances as our sports stupid rules allow, so he played for tonga at the world cup! Tonga gained nothing from this and a committed player probably lost his spot to Williams!

So world cup games are bush league games? So all of the other Fijian and Tongan players from those sides havnt played test match rugby league?

Pretty much, any game not involving Australia, New Zealand or England are basically nothing games and need as much help as they can get from rejects.

Yes, I bet Tonga and Fiji have rich Rugby League histories that rival my own country's.
