I see...

Rather ridiculous that you can live somewhere for 2 years in your late teens and that be your state or "origin"....

The eligibility rules need a major shame up by the ARLC, starting with scrapping the "must play for Australia" rule

Its up to the individual I suppose. But the crap media hype over Origin, lead by that twat "thats an origin play" Gould, also has a bit to do with it. The players aren't all that smart. A lot get sucked into it. People get sucked into it. Say it often enough and people believe it.

I had plenty of respect for Meninga and Stuart as players. But this origin carryon and wroughting rules and allegiances ultimately I believe is bad for the game and bad for its long term future. Origin kills the NRL for about 6 weeks through the middle of the season and it kills the international game. It gets enormous hype and interest for the game which is good, but that good is offset by the bads.

With the MASSIVE numbers of Kiwis and Islanders in the NYC, it's going to be so awesome to watch Blue Bros vs Maroon Bros in a few years' time. It'll be a perfect trial for the Green and Gold Bros vs the Black and White Bros at the end of the year.

I'd hate to think that article is accurate. Imagine picking your allegience based on who picks you first.

It must be hard for some of these young guys. Not to mention their agent wouldn't mind them leaning towards SOO for the extra pay day.

Approaching players is one thing, but being told no and then going back again and again until they change their mind is what makes this whole thing embarrassing.

They won't pick him. He's not ready. He's been playing great in a Bulldogs structure that pulls defenders away from him due to the threat of Frank Pritchard running off his hip and Ben Barba pushing up on the inside. In the Queensland side, he won't get the time nor the space to hold up the defensive line like that.

Jacob Lillyman would surely get another run if they wanted another prop.

No different to that joke Tamou choosing NSW over NZ.
James even admitted he was more excited to play for NSW than when he played for Australia.

Fair enough, he got paid more to play for NSW than he did for Australia.

This is just getting embarrassing for State of Choice.

And Mal Maninga still going after JT and Papili? Really?

Wrong. If Kasiano accepts Maroons selection after signing a letter of intent for the Kiwis it's a joke.

Queensland are well within their rights to select eligible players.

Oh hell no. If Sam wants the coin, it is no joke. He has a career to think of. If Queensland offer him that coin, notwithstanding the letter, they're the joke. The player has less responsibility to the game as a stake holder than the Queensland body!

Good post RHCP.

Qld don't need another prop and Kasiano won't be picked. If anyone is getting dropped its Taylor or Gillett. Neither are props.
I expect Parker to be fit and be in the team at the expense of either of the two mentioned above.
