A ball playing hooker ( so to speak) not such a bad thing. Get Hastings back now and Jack Bird, what a side this would be in 2017? Go for youth and the future / build around them / throw in Jacob Host / Aitken / JDB = a generational change not seen at the Dragons in a decade...

I'll say it now this is just my opinion but Keary won't be coming segeyaro on the other hand might as its rumoured the Pennies won't offer him a new deal.

Hastings i doubt he would come back and I rather the Dragons look at Tyler Cronish instead hes a genuine 7 with alot of upside and a better attitude.

They could build a team with some good youngsters coming through
Forwards - Host, Sele, Lawrie, Jurd, Taufa, leilua, leatigaga, Tuuta-Edwards
Backs - Garrick, Dufty, Thompson, Efaramio, Herbert
Halves - Field, Payne
Dummy half - Robson

They remind me of the chap who goes to the Auctions and bids on every item , without any intention of purchasing...just to be seen and noticed..
Every time a player is on the move the good ol Dragons are mentioned as possible suitors But who do we end up with...the failures , no names and discards that cant get a gig anywhere else.Why continually have to pay Overs ??? If that is the case lets put our faith in our Juniors coming through ie Host Aitken Sele Dufty etc etc
i would however make a play for Hastings , as that may lure JACK BIRD back to the fold in 2017 ;-);-)

I wouldn't mind picking up one of the good up and coming halves and allowing him to develop. The issue is we do not have the patience due to recent poor results (half a decade now), nor do we have the coaching staff that could foster and develop the talent.

I saw enough of Shannon Crook to know he could have made it but as soon as Mary hired that wanker Logan that all ended.

He came back from a serious knee injury and was doing a good job then Logan started his antics and Crook got shafted.

They never gave Sam Williams any time to do anything then did a panic buy of Benji who hopefully is gone by the end of the year and they bring in a natural 7 instead of this bullshit they have now.

I have seen enough of young Jai Field to know he organises the team well, is a good link man, has a good kicking game and is a good foil for Jack Payne who is also improving.

Throw in young Tony Pellow, Tristan Sailor and Jackson Willis and you have guys worth developing.

Throw in Wallace, Nona and actually persisting with Hutchison and you may just find some one.

Walker has achieved nothing when compared to Keary. Things move awfully slow at kogarah!

Dragons have offered Keary $600k per season, Broncos offered Cody Walker $550k for 3 seasons I think you will find.

I'd say everyone on here would have been happy to take a few years of poor results if we could see young blokes being brought through into first grade.

Instead we continually buy has-beens ,discards etc( and turn them over regularly) ,PAY TOO MUCH FOR THEM ,and get appropriate results, so after coming up for 5 years of crap we are back at square one ,with a side chock full of ordinary performers stopping any young guys even getting a foot in the door.

He won't be coming, especially now that they have reopened contract talks with Benji for a one year extension. That's the translation for we missed out again and so we'll go the cheapest option.

according to todays tele, 400k was max.

It?s understood the premiership-*winning Rabbitoh still wants upwards of $400,000 a season ? a figure the Dragons are reluctant to match

So Benji is on a reported 450k per season. And with Creagh gone next year, surely that free's up enough money for Keary. What are these imbeciles at the Dragons doing, do they think they are going to sign a premiership winning half for under 400k? helloooo, is anybody with an once of common sense there at the Dragons?

Benji was just offered a new contract at 300k which he has agreed to in principal. Reported today.

Souths offered Keary $550k and later withdrew the offer, if the dragons offered in the vivinity of $400k then that's why he hasn't signed.
