Please Mannering is having a rest - and more opportunity for Kearney to build for the future, given the depth we have there, I can only assume he'll be scouring the NSW Cup

No Mannering, Foran, Marshall or Jeremy Smith. Who is Captain? Isaac Luke? Adam Blair?

A winger as captain and vice captain a guy who isn't a sure thing to make the top 17?

Personally I'd have Glenn on the bench at this point, but Kearney has had the opportunity to pick him and passed before..

Anyway, *cough* Marshall *cough* would be the obvious choice...

Otherwise, maybe Jesse Bromwich as the stand in captain (even Issac Luke?), with a leadership group around him for the whole tour with Luke, Harris and a couple more - Glenn & Nightingale perhaps? :) If Taylor made the cut he might snag a leadership role... not that he should make the cut...

Couldn't have Luke as captain, he's a f**kwit

Sound enough choices, I think - Nightingale is the goods, and Glenn can slip straight into Mannering's spot

Thought it was pretty self explanatory, he obviously has problems with Benjis off field behaviour in Kiwis camps and doesn't think being just a solid NRL half makes that worth overlooking compared to when he was one of the best players in the world for one tour to England.

It's all to my original point, people just love to whinge about Kearney instead of giving him credit for any good things he does or back any decisions he makes. The same people who were outraged that he wasn't replaced by Glenn Morrison or Richie Blackmore in 2014.

Anyway I imagine Kidwell, Barnett, Nikau etc have a bit of say in the matter
First bold. Only if you jump through hoops trying to make your case. Who cares if Benji isn't the best player in the world - he's a class above any of the options than Kearney is going to throw up there.

If Kearney has problems with Benji's off field behaviour (and clearly he must do) then he needs to man up and say "I'll never pick Benji" instead of those door still open in the future bullshit.

As for the second boild, did you even read what I wrote? I clearly stated I have defended Kearney in the past, but I'm not going to give him a pass when he carries on like an idiot.
