You blokes who are slanging Sh^t on Rogers are kidding. For 78 minutes he was very good. He set up the try for Doogs and his general play was good.

What about the brain explosions by Patto that copst us a try. What about Wicks penalty, what about Lulia missed catch which led to a try. I don't see anybody anybody going off at them for these incidents

You blokes need to start being objective and apply the same thoughts with all players and not just a selected few

I think it's the timing of the incident that highlights his stupidity. BR's a good player, thick as a bank vault door though.

Just got back from the game and it was awesome!

Sau scored right in front of me. Loved it.

I got no problems with that. But what about the stupidity of Patto's pass in our half with 2 minutes left and we were only down 2 points at the time. The Dragons score in the next set of 6 to lead by 8 at half time instead of 2.

I don't see anybody criticising that ridiculous pass which led to a dragons try however the minute Rogers does something wrong which was his only mistake in the game, there is a chorus with a number of posters of how sh%t he is.

People just need to be objective without the obvious and ridiculous bias that some show. Rogers was a match winner tonight

Much respect to all the Dragons fans being good sports.

I thought that penalty for putting us into touch was really harsh and kept us in the opening exchanges of the game.

Well I've bagged Rogers from day one but credit where it's due.
He was reasonable tonight but Karma needs to get over himself. People heaping sh*t on Rogers has nothing to do with you and your Dureau comments but I do love your embarrassing misplaced sense of self importance.

1. He didn't make the break that lead to the Mad Dog try. If you watch he's put straight through a gap. Danny Wicks could have run through the gap. The pass was good.

2. He horribly misses the tackle that lets Saffy in and puts them within one try. Well done.

3. Still has pathetic brain snaps worthy of reserve grader in the local league.

But he played one of his better games tonight.

We're all entitled to our opinions...but I'm still not decided either way on Rogers after tonight. Doesn't get involved too much (which would be under Smithys instruction of course) which is a problem as it makes Mullo do everything which is not what he is best at. This can also force Gidley to be more involved in the playmaking which is not what we want him to do either. All of this was compounded by the way Saints seemed to shut down Gidley at will, he seemed pretty ineffective (by his standards) in attack tonight, though of course made his ever valuable 100m+ with countless dummy half runs etc to really help out the team.

I also didn't see Rogers do much tonight other than drawing and passing to Mad Dog after Mullo put him through that gap. Actually I do remember something, I think it was earlier in the 2nd half and he had something like a 3 on 2 overlap on the left side and did a Karma/Stig special and forgot about passing the ball! I thought we'd be away down the sideline given our eagerness to have a go in attack!!! Oh and the knock over the dead ball line when Hornby nearly scored, that was nice cover but I thought it bounced off Hornby's shoulder? Speaking of Hornby, he seemed to turn Rogers inside out very similarly to Prince in the Titans game when he snuck through and offloaded to Saffy for their last try.

Anyway, I've had a good look at him now after 6 weeks, and looking at his best games over the last few weeks in particular he has a few good touches each game, certainly has the ability we have all seen in patches, but I don't think he brings much to the position of 5/8 given his error rates. We come to a bit of a catch 22 here, I want to see him do a bit more but that seems to be his major problem in the past - when he tries to do too much it doesn't work. I would be much keener to see this experiment continue if he still wasn't so inconsistent...

I believe Rogers can do that every week. No more, no less. If he can diminish the brain snaps--and I feel this may come (he is still getting used to not overplaying his hand)-- a couple of incisive plays can be enough to turn close matches for us. To my mind it's more about Mullo than Rogers, and whether he can consistently run the show as halfback week after week.

Everyone wants to heap sh*t on Rogers because they have a hard on for Dureau, and hate to see my comments on him come true.
Wow you really think anyone would care enough about your opinion that they'd prefer us to potential lose the you be right, suck it up sweetheart you're not that important

I wish things were a bit more clear cut to be honest BG...fair calls too. If Rogers was better, Dureau worse or whatever, it would be so much easier just to say "these are our primary halves, and this is our backup plan"

And as you probably know a few of us don't think Mullo should be halfback every week as its not quite his thing, though the guy is that good he can pull it off when he needs to eg: tonight, nearly got a KOTW point from me too!

Smith had Gidley playing first receiver for much of the game. with Mullo at 5/8, very much like last season. If Rogers involvment was down then it was probably because he was being used sparingly by our coach which i think is a good thing. Give him the ball when there is something on, otherwise keep him out of it.

We played a totally different offensive game tonight, much more like last years look and feel. I am left shaking my head yet again that the post match discussion has landed on Rogers for some reason. So what, he chipped ahead on their 30m line with 5 to go. It didnt work, its not like it was a low percentge play or in a bad spot for that type of play, and for the want of a finger tip he would have laid on a try. His touches were very good imo. His defence was outstanding. Give the guy a break. Mullen ran the damn thing with more on the line much further out and I dont see anyone breaking his balls about it.

I was really happy with DeGois tonight. He showed a real willingness to run and his defence was just outstanding. A Buderus like performance. Wicks hasnt played like that since his early days with the dragons. I cant speak highly enough of our bench tonight, they all contributed greatly there was no drop off when they came on, in fact i think we lifted a couple of gears.

For me though, the absolute highlight of the game was Smith vs Bennett, one would thrust, the other would parry. The way both game planes were drawn up and changed on the fly was a credit to both of them. Saints would kick on the 4th tackle and our wingers would be ready. We would do the same, then we switched it around by running it late. Awesome to watch. Toss in the wind, Wendell vs MacDougall, Mullen and Soward going at it...what an entertaining match. One is left wondering how this could have been the craptastic 5:30 timselot and not friday or sunday arvo. Scheduling 5 weeks ahead is terrible practice.

I thoroughly enjoyed the match. For us, coming back from being 8 down twice shows some real grit and faith in the game plan. Clearly we wanted to mess them around as much as possible in the first 40 and stay close to them, with an eye to running them down. It worked perfectly. Once again kudos to Smith and congratulations to the players for winning 3 in a row and beating 3 top four favourites in doing so.

We have learnet how to be consistent, we have learnt how to win away. Can we now go on and learn how to dominate and keep our heads in the right place? Looking forward to see it happen.

Right under the big screen. Couldn't see much all night from my angle other than the corner post.

BUT, Brian Smith's son sat 3 metres to the right with radio in hand to pass on his view. Absolutely unreal to sit there and see just how quick the game plans can shift. Called out all the replacements we needed. Very unique view of the game tonight.

Wow. That would have been great to listen. I might have had to lean over and put in my own 2 cents if I was there though. haha
