Pfft, last night? Learn to objectively read stats. Obviously 4 players didn't make a collective 28 errors last night, I doubt we had that many sets. NRL.com also claims Sau has made something like 350 runs this year, learn to take these things with a grain of salt.
I don't see why this is such a divide. Most people have lauded Rogers for his performance last night, I thought he was very good, and honestly had no beef with the chip. I, likewise have acknowledged that he has had similarly good touches in the last few weeks. He does however, make unforced errors, brain snap errors, and sh*tty decisions (something that would not be recorded on error counts). These I can live with while he maintains this form. Yes, I concede he is more creative and spontaneous than Scott. But, I, like most people here, believe that Scott allows Mullen off the leash. It isn't a 1 for 1 comparison with Rogers and Dureau, they're so different as players the mind boggles. I personally think that Mullen playing 6 is ten times better than the both of them put together, and that's why I push Scott, because his assets complement Mullen's better. Rogers influence on the game is, as many have said, being limited to small instinctual contributions every now and again, harnessing his skillset by preventing him from being very involved and preventing him from more brain explosions by taking the pressure off. This places a huge strain on Mullen and Gidley as well. Kurt's role was severly diminished last night due to the additional strain. Do we really need Rogers doling out his pressure to other (better) strike weapons? In the process diminishing their roles/influence?
At the moment I would have him in my team, preferably in the 14, but I could cope with him being in teh 6 for now as well. I suspect whoever said it was correct in saying that we will not have stable halves pairing this year, I just hope Scott is given some time to demonstrate his worth. Keep in mind, the last time he played a game he won us the Shark's game in a more emphatic and solo fashion then Rogers last night.
