Here...........have a tissue diddums  ;-)

Of course I'm happy with winning. It just could have been a very different story if Rogers' brain snap led to the Dragons racing 60 metres and sending us into golden point where anything could have happened.

Yeah, Ben Rogers might have kicked the game winning field goal!!! ;-)

Could your grandmother have swayed her hips to evade the two diving tacklers on either side that Rogers had to get through?

Well I dunno, I heard Perverses grandma was a pretty darn good footballer in her day. :sarcasm:

We were $2.90 head to head underdogs last night and now people aren't just happy with winning, but wanna win by 20 as well?

That was a good effort avoiding two diving attempts.

However the way some people are talking up the effort it's like he was simply passed the ball with nothing going on, single handedly busted through 4 defenders who made front on shots, and then executed a pass that only Andrew Johns could have pulled off.

probably... she's in pretty good nick for an 81 year old.

fair dinkum if you thought hitting that gap and drawing and passing was anything glorious you need your head checked imo. i gave rogers a point in KOTW, so i recognise he did some good things.. but fair dinkum.. it was hardly something that no-one else on our team could have achieved (except sau... who admittedly cannot pass).

Then if what Rogers did last night was bland and ordinary and nothing special, what does that say about the first 2 years of Scott Dureau's first grade career, because I've never seen the bloke bust a tackle ( whether it be a feeble diving attempt grandma could have beaten or not ) in my life.

But he does do a good friendly wave to the Crusade up in the grandstand! Dureau is a natural at that.

You're right.

Because he would be the one feeding the ball to Mullen to do the gap running and play his natural game.

Fantastic argument.

Next.

Not saying it was anything glorious, it was great line running by Rogers off an equally great pass by Mullen. Rogers had his best game for us last night, and while I was rather pissed with the chip n chase attempt late in the game, he did do a lot right...certainly nothing to warrant losing his place next week (even though at the time I said he should've for the chip attempt)

Sounds like quite a catch...hook me up, mate ;-)

So you'd prefer to have Rogers in the side instead of Dureau? Oh wait, stupid question. My bad.

Oh good, if that is what it takes to play first grade halfback, looks like grandma can make a comeback Perverse!

Yeah, its a stupid question in the sense I've just spent an entire thread saying I don't care who plays in the halves as long as we keep winning.

If it was up to me, I simply wouldn't mess with what has been the best halves combination in recent weeks. If we had been playing best with Dureau/Mullen, then let them keep playing, but we haven't been. For now, let it roll while Rogers is on, because we all know what he'll be like when he is off.

Simple mate. Even for you to understand.

Lol so you're comparing a running 5/8th to the organising play making halfback.

If we're going to go off and compare different styles of players pointlessly I think Junior Sau should be dropped.

His kicking game isn't as good as Mullen's.

lol.. what dureau provides to the team, rogers will never, ever have. the best kicking game at the club, passion and consistency in ball distribution.

you're a laugh riot karma. always have to bring scotty back into it. you also rarely put your hand up when you're wrong. just because you've given scott a few pats on the back when it was absolutely, 100% bleedingly obvious he was crucial to our victory, doesn't really mean squat in the grand scheme of your pathetic vendetta. in fact i would say that you only do that in order to somehow validate all the criticism and bullsh*t you sling at him.

ok, i'm done on that one.

i do, however, agree with this. although a part of me knows that every game we win with rogers in the #6 is a step closer to a game he fudges terribly. he came awfully close last night.

Ask saint's fans how they feel about Rogers when last year he really went out of his way to lose them a finals game.
