Not sure what they expect with 750 words in the paper, on twitter and Facebook.
If they want business plans, no problem, we can write them too but the reality is that we want the board above all else to ensure that all the right pieces are in place and for heavens sake, communicate those points.
The Titans did that several weeks after a new board was installed and whilst it's a thin document, it has a vision and kpis that they will be judged against.
The board inherited a shit sandwich but it's now THEIR shit sandwich and they have been entrusted to fix it so show us that you are.
We don't have 5 yrs to turn this things around, crowds are down 12% this year alone.
We flagged three areas of focus that needed to be addressed, they are the markers for the board to dive deeper into.
Because if it were me, I'd formulate the vision, have strategies developed to deliver the vision, metrics in place to track our performance against the strategies and tactical actions to achieve the strategies.
As amazing as it is, you do that piece alone correctly and viola you get accountability.
The board then also needs to have the necessary skills to review the strategies proposed by the management and look for holes or wishful thinking. If they don't have that then they need a trusted group of external consigliere who can punch holes in any fairy tales the management tosses up.
Finally, don't take my or any of the supporters words for it. Off the top of my head, Dillion, Keeble, Toohey, Kent and Rothfield have said at one time this year that the club has some serious issues to address and correct.
Even Joey, the greatest of them all, said that the club had some obvious issues and blokes weren't putting in. He amongst all others knows what a winning footy club looks like
