Kurt Mann for 2 or 3 years

People make it sound like Mann hasn't been given a go.

Sure he hasn't been played in one position but he has played first grade if he had been left in reserves for months at a time then you could say he hasn't been given a go.

Como I am not sure why you persist in your Mann crusade but honestly other players have been dealt with worse then Kurt ie Hutchison and Nona.

Also he is a solid player thats it.
This. I've got no issue with the guy, and not going to complain if he re signs, but in all truth he is a solid first grader, a handy fill in player but that's it. He has had a decent stint in firsts albeit in a few positions, but I can't recall anything really special from him other than his stint on the wing last year. He hasn't done anything wrong, but he's not the messiah that some here seem to think he is.

I think if he was as good as people on here made him out to be, Bellamy would've done a lot more to keep him.

I'm a fan of his though, and think he adds really good squad value. Definitely deserves a spot in the 17 each week, just don't know if he does in the 13 necessarily.

Kurt is a reasonable player with a good step off each foot. Speed is ok but not exceptional. Defence usually sound although had a tough time with Josh Morris last week. I do like him on the wing; sniffs out a try.

Overall, I don't get too excited about him.

He should get offered what his value is worth and his value isn't that high.

He is a good solid first grader but should not be kept if he blocks the path from one of the juniors.

Regarding MANN .last year playing on the wing he was the leading tryscorer.the kid has ability but it's difficult t!o show it when your job changes nearly every week.im inclined to think if he was given another try at fullback and at least 6 to 8 weeks he might just cement a spot .hard to see that happening with the keystone cops in charge.doesnt it depress you having a shit coach

It is a worry that nothing seems to have happened after Millward said there was a offer on the table. I hope he stays, I think his form last year on the wing was great and he was our top try scorer.
Based on performance he is better then MacDonald and sad to say better option then Nighty.

I am not fussed if he stays or goes.

I don't seem him excelling at one spot but would easily fill in several at a pinch.

Imo Garrick and Herbert should be next in line for backline positions with Nightingale going around next year the one spot thats up for grabs is fullback.

I wouldn't be surprised if they give Herbert a go at 1 he has played the position before.

He's yet to impress me.
Now I understand he's been dicked around by positional changes, maybe if he was given a fixed position he would shine.

But until then, he remains a unknown quantity to me.

My guess is that the offer made by Millward is lower than what Mann wants and probably lower than other offers.

I haven't seen one report stating anyone has offered Mann a contract.

I haven't seen even a rumour not like other players.

Mann will not be able to command much anyway.

Apparently his best position is in the halves. We have a half that is not up to the standard, so to me the answer is simple. Stick him in the halves for the rest of this year next to Widdop. Widdop 7, Mann 6 I think will work well, should strengthen us this year and give us a quality backup in the halves for next year. He has also proven he can play anywhere in the backline so is a must re-sign. IMO

I believe Field is the backup 6 and Hutch will be the backup 7. However, I agree that in 2017 McCrone should be dropped and Mann selected in the halves. It would be best if he was signed up now so that if he shines he won't have all Clubs looking for a halfback/five eighth bumping up his price.

Dufty should be tested now so that if he is not up to it, Mann can be considered for the fullback job in 2018. Field won't be ready and I think he will end up coming through a wing position until his body has better developed. I really think he would kill it on the wing however, extra defensive cover would have to be arranged in his early stage of first grade wing selection.

The longer it takes for Mann to re-sign the less chance they will. A bit of a worry that since Millward's update when he said that they tabled an offer and things were looking positive, nothing done.

Pretty sure he said that Dugan's was looking positive as well at 1 stage.

Name a current player in our roster who can fill in at a drop if a hat in the halves, wing, centre and fullback. Crazy not to oretain him and he should see more game time with McCrone going and Nighty maybe 1 year more at most.

The way Gus Gould praises the talents of Kurt Mann, you would have to think he may end up at the Panthers were his confidence may blossom. Mary just uses him to plug holes, hence his new nickname.....Spack filler Man!
