There are so many things wrong with the Dogs it’s hard to pin it down to just one area or to a single player. Unfortunately for Flanagan he was the scapegoat this week. If I were him I wouldn’t worry. It’ll be some other sucker next week.

I don’t know what sort of money he is on but I’d imagine it would be $600k - $700k. I guess when you’re paid that sort of freight it comes with a cost if you don’t deliver.

At the end of the day Kyle has to harden up a bit. He signed a contract and a bit like Brodie Croft at the Brisbane Broncos, he has to accept responsibility when things arent going right. Trent doesn't want to have to drop him, he would much rather that Kyle play at a level that makes him invaluable to the team. No one said it was easy, but Kyle signed the contract and knew what he was getting into.

I know you’re just trying to stir, but he did take responsibility. The issue is that the Dogs have laid all the responsibility on him, when they should also be looking at themselves in the mirror.

Maybe but when you are the big name recruit on big coin at a new club, you best take responsibility for everything, that is just how it goes.

Plus, please, dont come out and cry on television. your not 5 years old. Man up!!

Holy f**k, they wheeled him out after he was dropped? I'd have to believe Flanagan volunteered to front them, otherwise that is the ultimate dick move by the Bulldogs.

I don't think anyone will write him off, he's young, is playing for a f**king hopeless team under a f**king hopeless coach. Plenty of time to come good.

They weren't quite that brutal. The wheeled him out after he was hooked during the game. He was very upset during the press conference. And then later he was dropped for this week.

Still pretty brutal! He will bounce back though, he is a perfectly capable, albeit slightly robotic, first grade half.

The good old "man up", this is why fully grown men with mental health conditions are afraid to get the help they need

you are a soft boiled egg. Seriously, what problems is Kyle Flanagan really experiencing?!!? He is making 600k a year to play a game he loves. Two generations ago, 18 year old boys were sent to war and shot at. They had real problems.

The bullshit left wing agenda that everyone is a victim is destroying society.

The only person who can help Kyle Flanagan is Kyle Flanagan and he needs to man up and take responsibility for his life and his footy.

If being kind to people is a “left wing agenda”, sign me up for the communist party.

Kindness?!?! You wouldn't know what kindness is.

Kindness is not allowing someone to myopically focus on every little thing that goes wrong for them along the journey; and sulking about it, that ISNT kindness!!! Lol. Along the journey, many, many things will not go your way but you need to stand up and fight; and not sit in the corner sucking your thumb wishing you could hide behind your mummy's skirt. It is not kind to indulge people who need to have a good hard look at themselves . You are So fake.

Sometimes people need to go into the room of mirrors and see the world the way it really is.

Kyle needs to spend the week in the room of mirrors and stop blaming everyone else.

Dont disagree but look at someone like Hughes at Melbourne, rather than treat him poorly because he wasnt proving to be good enough to be first choice fullback the coaches DEVELOPED him into a decent halfback. Flanagan is a young kid still and needs help guiding him and continue his development, not feed him to the wolves because he isn't delivering at 22! What ever Bulldogs are paying him is on the Bulldogs. not the player. Besides wasn't it the second half after he was pulled that the Bulldogs collapsed?

This schtick was tired and outdated the first time around. Why’d you decide to bring it back?

I agree with Jorohme Hughes but Melbourne Storm and Craig Bellamy are miles ahead of Trent Barrett and the Canterbury Bulldogs. Plus at Melbourne Storm, Jerohme Hughes is surrounded by great players whereas Kyle is surrounded by journeymen and bit part players.

All Kyle has to do atm is make sure he does what Trent tells him. And clearly there is a misccomunication somewhere but as coach, Trent has the power so Kyle is the one who needs to change else.....

And why Australia has a massive suicide problem amongst young men!

The suicide problem is because men don't have other good men as role models any more.

The new "left wing" society has made manhood a crime.

and decided to indulge every little issue that anyone has...

which leads to men not being able to work out their problems in a manly way.

Nonsense, we are finally recognising that men are equally vulnerable as women psychologically and all that macho BS is just that. When you place great value and importance on something and it starts to crumble away from you then you are going to suffer emotionally. Some people can self manage it, some cant. For those that cant having someone who can help you through it can literally be a matter of life and death, but the first step is being ok to say I'm not coping and not feel belittled or stigmatised because of that by attitudes like yours.

I was a mental health nurse and worked with many WW2 vets when they were old and trust me they were just as vulnerable when they came home but society didn't make it ok to admit that so they drank, beat up their wives or kids or stepped in front of trains as a coping mechanism. We should be grateful society is changing, there but for the grace of god go I and all that......

If you popped over to The Kennel forum when he was first signed the majority of the dogs supporters saw him as the second coming of JC. Massive expectations, but as previously mentioned he is getting a fair amount of cash to play for them.
.
I have never been sold on Barrett as a head coach. He may make a good assistant like Stephen Kearney, but is mediocre at best running things from the top.
