I like the way the board is dealing with this.
Dump him into a desk job twiddling his thumbs while we wait to see if he accepts the Kangaroo job fulltime.
We could block that seeing he is still contracted to us.

Only person frustrated with this situation is Sheens. f**k him and lets see his next move because i doubt he wants to sit at a desk at concord for the next 2 seasons.

If he gets paid, he won't give a f**k.

He's not going to be flooded with job offers.

I would get pleasure with keeping him in a cramped office with no window and pay him to stay there 2 years rather than pay him out now and run off to U.K or the Kangaroos job. We own him for two more seasons so lets make it the worst 2 years of his life.

He wants to play hard ball, show him what hard ball is.

I agree,he created our team, and therefore he should reap the rewards,or in this case cop the flak for their no show this year.

I doubt that there would be anything in his contract forcing him to show up to the office everyday.....

To do what exactly? Read the newspaper?

They should just try to cut a deal with him to try to reduce the total amount owing in return for letting him go now....At best this might save them a $100K off the full amount..

The alternative is that he will take the whole amount and play golf every day for the next two years...

You are in denial if you think Sheens is hating the situation. He has all the leverage.

But if it makes you feel better, so be it.

The club created this situation, not Sheens.

Sheens has no leverage. He is stuck to do what ever we make him do.
He can't move on to another job until he cuts a deal with us to release him.

All I am saying is, if we have to pay him the full amount, lets keep him and make him work something menial like the mail room or greeting the old bitties at wests leagues bingo.
The humiliation is worth more than the million.

Surely that depends on the wording of his contract, which I suspect none of us have seen. If the contract specifies his role is to be head coach, then the club can hardly direct him to work in the mailroom.

We offered him a development coordinator role and he said no.

The board is playing this well imo, he cant seek employment until we release him so when the Kangaroo fulltime position comes up, we can essentially block that unless he cuts a deal on payout.

He has nobody by the balls. We still own him.

and what if the fulltime Roo's coaching role announcement is waiting for a Sheens release from WT?

Pay him one years salary in full and let him go.

i don't want the prick hanging around the club, defeats the purpose of sacking him

I was lucky enough to not only win a ticket into a celeb poker tournament last night, but to also get the honour of sitting next to Farah. Asked him a few questions over the game (not to many, didn't want to piss him off) and here's what I got...

* Yeah, Sheens is still at the club but the players have absolutely nothing to do with him and never see him. As is well known, Sheens is just waiting for his payout.

* He is looking forward to Potter being at the club and from his meetings so far has been impressed. He is looking forward to having a coach who is prepared to push them hard.

* He hasn't spoken to anyone from either Parra or the Tigers about 2014 and is waiting for the new cap, plus his manager will take care of it. But he did say the whole 'I don't want to leave, but that's the way football is nowadays' spiel in a very weary manner.

* I asked if he felt he had enough authority as captain under Sheens and he didn't believe so as Sheens used to do things his own way only.

* I asked about the youngsters and he immediately mentioned that Tedesco is back at training and looking good.

* No word on halves yet. Those type of decisions won't happen til early next year.

It is an inglorious end to what he considers a stella career. Right now he would
be crying himself to sleep wishing he signed with Penrith. There is no way the bloke
is happy unless he is as bloody minded as everyone on here seems to think he is.

If we could do that I am inclined to agree. The purpose of sacking him is not retribution
though, it is to make a change.

We tried giving him 600k of the 900k contract but he wants the lot.
So Humph left it up to Tim to decide his next move. Silence ever since.

My point is, if he wants the lot to go away, lets just keep him contracted and can fade into obscurity without work. We can sue him if he takes employment while contracted to us.
It also saves us from paying him the lump sum that we dont really have and pay him over the 2 years on the drip.

Tim will buckle and leave after a deal with the board. He really has no choice.

Nadda. Played the worst ive ever played in my life. Aside from the excitement at being seated next to the captain of the best f**king team in the world I wanted to ride it out as long as possible and stuffed it.Still im pretty sure some dude from H&A ended up beating the guys left who were Gallen, Farah and SKD. Had Farahs Dad at the table, along with Minichello, Lachie Turner and Firass Durani from House Husbands/Underbelly.... ill tell u what. I thought i was short. That dude must be like 5'5.

You are contradicting yourself.

You say he has no leverage, but apparently he is able to turn down jobs.

Tell me, if he turned down the development role, do you think he will agree to take the mailroom job you suggested the club offer him?

I havent seen the contract he signed, but I'm pretty sure it would state that it is for the Wests Tigers head coach, not the mailroom boy.

God youre thick, it was a figure of speech about the mail room or bingo caller. Just dont release him.

Im just saying if he wants the full payout, keep him for the length of the contract, even if he sits at home.
Dont let him pursue any job whatsoever unless he cuts a deal for a reduction in payout.

I would be pissed if we paid out the 2 years and he ran off and got another coaching gig.

Best news all week!
Once Tedesco gets his confidence back and a few games under his belt he will be a key player for us.

So it looks as if Timmy will be shuffled to utility then. IMO he will provide as a brilliant utility but I guess we will have to wait untill March next year.

I wish it was March.
