Sheens doesnt have to be willing to do anything.
WTs I would guess wouldnt have a leg to stand on, legally
He's owed 2 years pay....with the new grants clubs have recieved I think we can cover it.....its still a LOT of money pissed up against the wall when most other clubs will be using theirs wisely

Why not. If I get sacked I won't get 2 years paid out. I'll get 12 weeks pay.

Don't be an idiot...he has a contract which entitles him to two more years of pay.

While I am glad he is not coaching the team in 2013, WT management chose to punt him. Legally, he is entitled to every cent as he did not choose to leave the position, he was forced to go.

While our team has had a lean year, I highly doubt that he can get the sack due to not perfoming his job properly (despite the numerous poor choices he has made).

That statement he made about walking away cannot be legally binding.

If Sheens lost a legal battle, I'd be very concerned about workforce law regarding contracts.

Imagine if you signed a two year contract with your employer and you do your job properly. If they told you to leave your job tomorrow with two years pay left on your contract, would you try to claim those earnings?

Don't lie :)

He had a contract and is entitled to WHAT ever was in the contract. Also Iam sure he is pissed off, who would would not be after getting the punt, not good for the ego especially a bloke with a king size ego.

Anyway pay him off and shut the door in the Sheen era for good

We understand the contract side of things.
I feel if he did state in words to leave if they didn't make the 8, he should stand by it.
Word is your word and your name is mud if you dont stick by it regardless of contract or not..

League is a small industry and ill bet he doesn't get another gig In aus again.

Thats just it,he wasnt doing his job properly

This is just my opinion but i believe the tigers are VERY close to the cap and his results just were not visible, that team should always make the top 8

Very hard to prove that he was not doing his job properly though. I'd say even Terry Lamb tried his best to coach us....he may not have done it very well, but he turned up to work and had a go.

Teams finish out of the 8 every year, it does not mean their coaches are bad.

He simply has to be paid out and I don't blame him for claiming his salary.

He got more than a fair f**king go

10 years
3 semis appearances
less than 50% win ratio overall

FFS... if that not giving him every possible conceivable chance to get it right... I dunno what is

Let me spell it out for you idiot....I AM GLAD SHEENS IS NOT OUR COACH!!!

Our club has gone backwards....no doubt. Sheens had reached his use-by date....no doubt.

But, blame our management for putting him on that crazy contract, not Sheens. He is entitled to every cent as he did not walk away.

While his results are crap, that does not justify not paying him for his last two years.

Idiot?
Is that directed at me?
I made a general observation, I think I know who the idiot is.
You can apologize promptly.

Yeah, but it's Robbie's fault for missing that field goal. :sarcasm:

Well yes ink you are an idiot but that isn't today's point who's opinions of football are like assholes not only do es everyone have one but are full of shit.

Sheens signed a contract therefor he deserves the payout of that contract no questions. As they say in the business world a verbal contract isn't worth the paper it's written on. Sheens deserves every cent he signed for.

I don't know anyone that would simply walk away from $400-$500k for next 2 years with a contract in place - word, hand shake or otherwise! Anyone who says they would, is a fool. This is a huge amount of money for any person and family. I have never come across anyone who leaves a job and leaves behind their entitlements - super, leave, payout.

Agree or not. Sheens is entitled to the money. Pay him out and move on. Blame the buffoons on the other side of the contract.
