One article says there were 300 there the other 1000.

Anyone know roughly? If only 300 could be stuffed turning up then pretty piss poor turn out given the number of members and shows that everyone thought it would be a waste of time.

I read with interest the run down on the AGM on nospam46.

One item that hasn't been mentioned here so far are the contracts awarded to Sid Kelly Flooring and Libertini's La Piazza.

Also the newly passed resolutions that afforded directors various financial benefits for representing the club.

It was mentioned, the Peter Kelly flooring deal did go to tender whilst the La Piazza deal did not, I think bentley said that an allowance for 100k can be spent without having to go to tender!

The place was about 95% full

That sounds right, no need to go to tender for every small thing. The La Piazza deal is not a good look, even though I'm sure it's legit.

To be honest the whole thing was a farce, and I really felt embarrassed for the players and Steve Kearney.

The board should hang there heads in shame, the only reason the players and the coaching staff where there was to deflect any criticism to the board as noted towards the end of the meeting.

The limited questions to the playing group and coaching staff were hand picked and piss poor, asking Hindy if he will play his best football this year WTF???? or can the players approach the fans at the end of the games??? Are you serious??? With the way some of our fans conduct themselves after a loss, throwing projectiles on the field if I were a player I would be concerned of getting a bottle to the head instead of a friendly handshake.

IMO the players and the coach should not have been there as it was a complete waste of time, at the end of the day, the players are answerable to the coach and the coach is answerable to the board and the board has to be answerable to us the members of this club. And last night showed they weren't going to be accountable for there actions.

To be fair it was a leagues club AGM not a fan forum.
The was a fan forum in the pre-season and it was pretty poorly attended i believe.

Also predictable that two of the Three Amigos were swift into damage control and deflecting criticism here last night.

About as predictable that you'd call it a shambles and bag it out. Yin and yang, Gronk.

To those who attended what was the feeling you got from the players? Did fans show how disappointed we are? If so hopefully this shows some of them that it's not good enough and pushes them to perform.

Did sandow or hayne talk at all or was it just hindy and SK?

I was merely relaying the consensus here, at nospam46 and on twitter.

You on the other hand feel it that it's your duty to put out spot fires on behalf of the club. Is it an honorary position or do you get a retainer ?

if we keep on hearing that the players are sent out with the tools to do the job but don't use them, why haven't we seen more movement in the team selections.

We may not have the depth but what is the use of serving up the same shit each week and making hollow excuses. We will not know what some of these untried players have to offer unless given a go. Look at Ryan and what potential he offers and the enthusiasm he brings.

Kearney is going to pay the price if results don't improve so should be given the backing to correct what he sees is the problem. If players aren't following game plans do something about it, but still allow some freedom to play what is in front of them when required.

the problem that we had was that it was Leagues Club AGM, not a footy forum, therefore there was so much other stuff to get through in such a short space of time, the Q&A to the players and coaching staff were a complete and total waste of time but as few pointed out, Peter Nolan, yet again, conducted himself like a true professional whilst Hindy (who spoke on behalf of the players) and Kearney were almost pleading for forgiveness.

yes, the questions were cringeworthy and the moron who almost insulted our captain on stage didn't help either.

I gotta run to work however im sure MITS and or emjaycee can touch on the Agendas that took place such as the possible proposal to market the sale of Vikings which was also comical..at some point today or this evening.

I am not going to go into detail about what was and wasn't raised and discussed at the AGM last night.
Anyone who was there already heard it and anyone who is a member can request a copy of the minutes when they are available. I am planning to try and arrange a sit down with Mr Bentley to discuss some of my concerns coming out of the meeting last night and some ideas i have for improvement.

One comment i will make however is about something that SK raised in his address and not in response to a question from the floor. He said that before accepting the role, he knew there were problems that
needed to be fixed, however it was only after he started that he realised the problems ran deeper than he thought. That was an interesting comment and i think has something to do with our salary cap structure and our roster and how we haven't been able to spend what we need to build the team up in just 2 years.

I kind of think that Kearney would say that given the position he is now in. No doubt the Eels weren't perfect, but we werent the shambles that we are now and I think if he hadn't become coach that we'd be ok. Maybe we wouldn't be winning premierships, but we'd be a lot closer to the top 8.

Well the League Club control the NRL operations, so it stands to reason that the LC AGM should discuss the NRL performance.

And the fan forum pre-season ... I don't see pre-season as a good time to discuss any real issues. No one knows wtf is going to transpire, everyone is just keen and have their hopes high ... have a fan forum just after we pick up the wooden spoon and see if there's more movement at the station

how did he have a practicle 5 year plan if he wasn't aware of the full extent of the problems that needed fixing.
His 5 year plan must have been nothing more than a marketing ploy to promote himself.
