Leaving a game before full-time?

When is it okay to leave one of your team's matches before FT?

So what are the politics around this? Under what circumstances is it okay to make your ways out of the stadium be before the full-time siren?

It is never okay, you should do a Blackburn and protest after the game inside the stadium.

Not that it's worked.

I've only walked out on my team once...

I travelled to Penrith in Round 26 2010 to support them and they got done 50-12, I left with about 20 minutes to go.

I left because there was no point staying when the season was clearly over for the players and they had no heart left in it. A depressing end to the season.

If you were a Canberra fan at the game on the weekend, then you're allowed to leave at any point.

If you (or a family member) are required to be removed by ambulance or you are in the process of burning alive then it MAY be acceptable. Under no other circumstances is it ok.

This.

Have never left a game early despite copping some floggings over the years.

I left with 5 to go on Friday night at Titans. I am a neutral fan and wanted to get the train that isn't sardine world.

If I can sit through or 71-6 flogging at the hands of the Broncos in '07 I can sit through absolutely anything

If you leave just because your side is losing by a big margin then you are soft as shit. Experiencing the lows in full make the highs so much sweeter

I went to a souffs game in 2002 vs the Dragons at the SFS...i went with Souffs fans and they wanted to leave at haltime cause they were getting smashed....we all walked out, drove home and watched the remaining 30 mins on Fox.

I'll leave a game early when my team is getting smashed with about 10 minutes to go and has no chance at winning. If your team hasn't showed up to play, not much point staying there to watch when you can hopefully get out and beat a bit of the traffic.

That said I haven't left a game early in quiet a while. Even when my team is getting smashed I've usually gone elsewhere nearby afterwards and beating traffic is irrelevant.

Only ever left before fulltime once - with about 5 minutes left of that 71-6 game at Suncorp in 2007.

I'm pretty sure I was entitled to leave early on that occasion

I have left early twice

Once against Souths at the SCG. The team had clearly given up by the time I left at about the 50 minute mark so I gave up in disgust as well. It is the only time I have left early due to team performance.

The other time was at Brookvale, Snakes return game. Ate something that gave me food poisoning and lasted less than 15 minutes into the game

Everyone is just making up different personal excuses. Just leave when you want! This is like something Jerry Seinfeld would argue about... lol

Couldn't disagree more. You support your team through good times and bad, not just when they're winning. There are notable exceptions to the rule though.

That's the point. Everyone's notable exceptions are subjective. "I have a shitty immune system"

Sitting through that isn't loyalty that's called masochism.
If your team can't be arsed putting in at all then they don't deserve to see friendly faces.
I've never walked out on my team when they are at least having a go even if losing by a few.
