Leaving a game before full-time?

When is it okay to leave one of your team's matches before FT?

I like to give opposition supporters such a send-off when they leave early, that I would never give them the satisfaction of the opportunity to do the same back.

Also I drive 1.5 hours to get to the game so I might as well watch all of it on the off chance they might get a consolation try.

I always wait 2.5 hours after for Heighington to come outta the sheds so I can say "Hi Steve, good game"

He always remembers me.

Loved nothing more than abusing the fellow Souffs fans streaming out early against the Tigers.
And was also at City/QPR when they came from behind with 4 minutes to go.

So it's barely June and already learned the lesson to never leave early.

I have , we were getting done ( away game ) and I wanted to get the kids out before the crowd.

I copped a fair bit of stick though from the home ( Bronco ) fans.

Got mine back when we kept them out of the finals in 2010

I left early during the 2010 GF cause it was the worst most disgusting unfair game I'd ever seen.

Being a Knights fan in Brisbane I make the most out of the few live games I manage to get to every year. Sure things might be dire for my team these days (on the field), but my mates (who now live up here as well) and I remember when we lived in Newcastle during the Johns glory years when 20000 plus screaming fans would holler for the oppositions' blood most Friday nights at Marathon.

You didn't walk out early then (you'd cop it from your own if you did), so I'll be damned if I'm going to walk out early now just because the team isn't travelling well. Our club routinely gets better crowd numbers than higher ranked Sydney teams. We stick by our club no matter what. Our time will come again, just got to be patient.

I used to leave early when they just weren't putting in. But not so much any more. Which is amazing because I live 3 hours from Sydney now.

I guess I think it would help to change the teams attitude if they saw the fans sticking around to watch them. Booing them? meh, never done it but I'v wanted to.

I left WIN about 10 minutes early back when Joey murdered us one night back in 05' to the tune of 54-6

I remember leaving a one-day game at North Sydney Oval many years ago, where NSW were getting flogged. It took a bit under an hour to get home, just in time to see NSW win the game on TV. I learned my lesson...

I left the Raiders v Tigers game 20 mins early and that's the first time I've ever left a game early. I was that disgusted.

When the Tigers scored just after halftime I said I'd leave if it got to 30 nil. Didn't take long. Wasn't going to stand in the pouring rain watching that mob embarrass Rugby League any longer.

Leave whenever you want. I take the chartered bus to games, so have no choice but to stay 'till the end. People were leaving really early on Saturday and I didn't bear them any grudge whatsoever. Life's too short to waste 20 minutes of it watching something that makes you feelsbadman.jpg

Generally I don't, but I have walked out early a few times

Games I can recall walking out on:

- 50 point smashing by souths in 2009. Walked out with 20 to go
- 2010 grand final. walked out with 15 to go after a few dragons fans around us started hurling disgraceful abuse at my wife

There have been a few others over the years but they are the 2 stand outs.

Walking out is a sign of fans giving up on their team, which sometimes is justified. There are people around me though who I see at every roosters game who duck out 5 mins before half time, then again 5 mins before fulltime no matter whats going on. No idea what thats about.

I think the only time I've left early is when the game was decided and my mates and I left to get a train that was leaving soon, so we didn't have to wait around for another hour or so. And the Knights were winning that one.

I've been to 15 Knights games, and only seen them lose 4 times (one being in GP). So havent really had a reason to leave early.
