Quite simply the Rooters arrogance knows no boundary, so what if it costs more to live in the Eastern Suburbs, there are other parts of Sydney they can live.
Cap concessions for living expenses..hmmm has Comical Ali made a comeback

Surely they can't be serious. If the Roosters got a concession because they're located in the Eastern suburbs, then the Bulldogs should get danger money and security money for being located in Bankstown.

Cowboys should get concession for extra hydration requirements.

Raiders should get concessions for extra heating costs.

Melbourne should get concessions for relocation costs.

Tigers and Dragons should get concessions for travel costs because their two training grounds are so far apart.

Each club would be on a unique salary cap, calculated to fit their location, and the living arrangement for each of their players.

Melon,

You keep calling Bulldogs supporters hypocrits, and saying that we have no right to comment on salary cap rorting. Let me explain it to you again, because you somehow seem to think that Bulldogs supporters were in on the salary cap rorting in 2002. News Flash - we weren't. We were more devastated than anyone else. It was our team that was doing it. They were busted, and we demanded that the board be sacked. They were. How is it hypocritical to question the salary cap on any other team when we were so vocal against our own team's rorting? We got the board sacked FFS.

Ibeme, If you were to ask me who i despise more when it comes to salary cap issues i would honestly say the Roosters, they just dont shut up about the damn thing. What the dogs did was wrong, i will not sit here and deny that, but the people responsible have moved on and so should everyone else.

i had no idea the Roosters were in such dire straits. perhaps they could organise a doorknock appeal throughout the eastern suburbs to raise money.

i'm sure the locals will dig deep for their favourite team.

Perhaps they should join forces with the Salvos and launch the Red (blue and white) Shield Appeal.

I'd like to play all of you at Poker.

You all seem to not know when someone is bumping the stakes, bluffing and trying to make the other man blink.

I don't agree with this latest ante by Bondi Junction in principle, but its put the Salary Cap back in the papers and, notwithstanding their own agendas, the media are sticking their microphones under Gallop's nose and asking him for the NRL's position on the cap.

The tactic on the part of the Club is to keep making the NRL justify the cap.

This is a repeat of the back-and-forth that happened when threats of legal action were mooted. You can bet that the NRL and News see it that way.

Why don't the players live out at Kingswood and drive to the eastern suburbs for training in the brand new car provided by nick P, that didn't fall under the salary cap in the fist place?

Surely there is enough cash in those brown paper bags to pay for rent somewhere near the eastern suburbs?????

Eastern Suburbs-where image is everything.
Roosters-just not the Australian way.

I love the way everyone's launched in into us when we are only "poised to ask".

We are still to have a "board meeting to dicsuss the issue" yet most here seem to think it's already a done deal?

Let's not forget that we backed down after we nearly killed the NRL with our request for a salary cap rise?

This is nothing more than a little sabre rattling leading up to the CBA ratification. The CBA that News limited are now in favour of by the way, funny that?

Chook.

Now we should brace ourselves for another Goose Gould attack in the media about how unfair the salary cap is to the Goosters.
Of course, a few years ago, when the Roosters were averaging about 5000 to a game and playing like a bunch of BUSTED ASSES, they were perfectly happy to have the salary cap to restrain other clubs. Now the shoe is on the other foot, and we get the whinging from all fronts and in the media where the real power is.
RC, how con you think that a 12 team comp will attract 20000 people to a game? That is just never going to happen.
In the NFL, home games are always sold out in America, because they only play a 12 or 14 week competition. 7 games at home EACH YEAR. And because of course America is unbelievably BORING, that helps. Plus about 300000 people in each city. That aslo makes NFL very popular.
Let me also ask another question. You believe in a 12 team competition people would support another team in the comp. If the Goosters didn't survive a 12 team comp cut, who would YOU support???
And more importantly would they WANT you?????

Ibeme. It doesnt change the fact the majority of EVERY OTHER SUPPORTER, including the majority of Dogs supporters, believe and state in no uncertain terms that Easts are Cheating. No Proof, but they still do it? What gives anyone the right to express baseless, defammatory accusations? Dont give me the "FFS its the internet"...remeber MattO and his rleague site? Well he got off lightly, this time. I suppose you dont have a problem with using Notepad on your computer, because thats the only place you'll have to discuss "league" with other people.

By all means comment on the facts, not accuse blindly. There is a difference.

Thats all well and good Chook, and might be true, but it gives Gould another way to attack the NRL through the media to push their case doesn't it? That is where the real danger lays. One person can push and push and push their case through the media. If it was for the betterment of all teams, that would be one thing. But it is NOT. It is for the betterment of the Roosters.
The media can be a very powerful tool in the wrong hands.

As apposed to News Limited pushing their own little red agendas through the media?? An agenda that doesn't include any rise in the cap for ANY club for the forseeable future? An agenda that doesn't want any more money spent in/on our game until such time as News Limited recoups the loses for their initiated Super League?

And no, I don't read or listen to Gould's dribblings either!

Whenever I see a story about the Roosters in a News Limited paper, I picture Dean "Bulldog" Ritchie hunch over his keyboard mouthing the words "suck on this Gould". Now Gus will return serve with an attack on the NRL as you say, and picture him hunched over his keyboard mouthing the words "Screw you Rupert".

It's an ego thing. Unfortunately my club ends up being in the centre of it because 1) Gould's association with my club 2) Gould works for a rival media company to News Limited 3) we listen to Gould.

Chook.

Salary Cap was introduced to stop clubs from going broke. Fullstop.

Your comment makes no sense. The Roosters have always had money and lots of it. We attempted to buy premierships and failed...transit lounge days... remember? If anything the cap restrained the Roosters from continuing that. How did it make us better when we had to spend less?

i think that that quite nicely sums up your ignorance of the issue - perhaps a trait you have in common with your club.

AS a long serving Roosters supporter i am disgusted with the latest request, i dont give a flying f**k where they are living etc, etc.
If they think its too expensive its simple, MOVE.
Nobody compensated me when i played flegg and ball with the roosters.
I drove 45 mins each way 4 days a week to train and drove to all games and did it for the love of it, not because someone was paying me to do it.
I live out penrith way and could have played for them or parra(closer to home) but didnt.
Politis is a great businessman and has done the world of good for the club but please Nick PULL YOUR BLOODY HEAD IN.

Wil they also compenaste me for the expensive food and drinks at Aussie, the season tickets that i pay for every year as i do live in the western suburbs and therefore should be sudsidsed for my lesser income :(
