we will rebuild and its the loss that will amke the team buy and change, but its going to be hard to get World Class players to come after that loss,

The problem is, and I've said it before, is that other clubs know we are desperate, Wenger has waited too long yet again, and other clubs know we have the money to spend. Those "bargains" that we have become so famous for are yet again out of reach, and we have to buy third and fourth tier players. If Wenger and the board got their shit together, we could have had a player like Enrique for £5.5m. Instead Wenger dithered meaning if he were on the market now he would cost £10m. Dumb.

Poor Arsenal, I have to say that being a Liverpool supporter i understand where you come from after what was served u in the first half of last season and the season before that. Arsene has left it too late to rebuild his squad the horse has bolted for at least this half of the season. Many clubs will not want to lose any of their players and those who do will charge you a premium just look at the 35Mil we paid Newcastle for Andy Carroll and the 50mil we made Chelsea pay for Torres at the end of the last transfer window.

A few points to make 'the day after the night before'.

Has a goalkeeper ever done better while conceding 8 goals like Szczesny did last night. Had no support whatsoever infront of him and if we had a lesser man in goal they would have hit double figures.

Ramsey was the only other player who deserves any praise. He was the only player who looked like creating something, I lost count of the number of times he made a good run creating some trouble for their defense only to be let down by having noone making the effort to get open around him.

Today we're rumoured to be after Cahill, Hazard and M'vila. If we get those players and our injuries/suspensions go away, we have a chance of doing something.

Hopefully by the end of the week our best 11 looks like this:
Szczesney - Sagna, Vermaelen, Cahill, Gibbs - M'Vila, Wilshere, Hazard - Gervinho, Van Persie, Walcott

THAT team is possible given how much money we have and our self imposed salary cap. Those players are gettable also. Now if Wenger gets his head out of his arse and makes it happen we can still turn the season around.

Very good. Despite the score, I'd rather be a gooner than a plastic manc...

or you could be a non plastic manc, then its all good.

And that prove the point I was trying to make i.e. how over-rated & over-hyped our much vaunted talent identification network is. United reserve players made our first teamers of the same age look Championship class. You cant deny too that alot of the youth that made up the reserve team of the past few years such as Merida, Barazite, Vela, Denilson etc just havent kicked on or not been given enough chances and this has really hurt our depth. And please Arsen send Arsharvin back to Russia with not too much love, theres just no passion there. I do feel sorry for the likes of Coquelin (who I thougt was admirable), AOC & Jenkinson (thought I dont think he'll be good ) that they have to step up into a poorly structred squad.

Uniteds young players played for Sunderland, Wigan and Blackburn last year, the others were put in a team around Giggs, Scholes, Neville etc. Hence they know what they are doing and can perform in pressure environment. Your young players are thrown into a situation they are not prepared for and people wonder why they get rolled over.

Why bring AOC on when he did? how does that help? Coquelin never stood a chance. Thrown into the middle for his first game. Especially when you have Arshavin and Rosicky as your experienced players.

also don't know if you have seen it, but check out Rosicky for the third goal. Just walks away before the ball goes in. Totally disgraceful.

The problem is, and I've said it before, is that other clubs know we are desperate, Wenger has waited too long yet again, and other clubs know we have the money to spend. I've been thinking about this, Wenger is a very good manager. So why does he do it?
I think its the board. They won't pay top wages and they won't pay top transfer values. They are taking Arsenal fans for a very expensive ride. The 'bargains' that Wenger used to rely on have gone. Either Arab money is overpaying for good players who would be experienced or other teams have got better scouting networks than they used to have. Teams are buying more foreign young players now and have scouts in the same countries as Arsenal. Teams know who the next Henry or Viera is now, so there is competition for players.

The only criticism i would have of Wenger is he gets young players just because they are good, not because he needs them. Hence all the youngsters are great footballers and can do the tippy tappy passing game. He is left with no defence though. Sir Alex as a comparison has recently shelled out on the England U-21 central defence. Why? Because he knew Neville, Brown O'shea were about done so replaced them. Where were the replacements for Adams etc.

Oh god. There is no worse feeling as an Arsenal supporter than sensing Sir Alex Ferguson's pity...I both hate and respect that man so much, and him pitying us is like a punch in the face.

Don't worry, no pity for Arsenal.

He is sticking up for a fellow manager who is getting a lot of grief.

Do you think he gave Young the hair-dryer for scoring the 8th. No chance, he told them to go get 9!!

I still can't believe it. The worst part is that you're reminded of the score EVERYWHERE!

Wenger really needs to learn to spend. There's no way we will have the depth for both Champions League and EPL this season.

As the only really profitable club in England and one of the top sporting clubs in the world, this just isn't good enough.

To be fair, Arsenal were also trying to sign both Smalling and Jones. Jones buy-out fee was paid by ourselves, Arsenal, Liverpool and one other team (believed to be City), but he chose us over the others.

The fact they both signed for us despite obviously being behind Rio and Vida says something when they could've signed for Arsenal and walked into the starting line-up.

Maybe they have seen what has happened to Ramsey and Walcott?

Jones was always joining United being a good Lancashire lad. Don't know how they missed on Smalling unless they were not prepared to offer the same transfer money.

The score could be a good thing. A gutsy 3-1 defeat and its carry on as usual. Sometimes it takes a kicking to get you going. We will see on the weekend.

Armand Traore has left and gone to QPR.

Mertesacker not confirmed yet. Advance stages.

That Brazilian has joined though.

I reckon you may go for Yossi Benayoun before tomorrow. He could do a job for you until next year.

Cahill may be between you and Spurs. Assuming you offer more than 6 million that is.

So Park Chu Young (ST) and Andre Santos (LB) are both signed, and bids all over the place for players, apprently we had a 31mill bid for Goetze rejected..... if we willing to spend that much how about Sneijder, Hamsik, kaka,

UPDATE: From Sky

Werder Bremen defender Per Mertesacker is travelling to London to undergo a medical with Arsenal later today

Thats 3 signings in 34 hours...

So now what we need is a World Class CM and A Class Winger/AM

Santos and Mertesacker go a long way to helping our defense, I still think we need one more CB, hopefully Cahill, Samba or Alex. Plus a star midfielder, along the lines of Goetze/Hazard/Kaka/Sneijder.
