Lille getting Joe Cole makes me think Hazard is a chance. Cole would be on hefty wages and hopefully it means they're willing to part with him.

Hazard is every bit as good, if not better, than Goetze and if we offered Lille what we offered Dortmund I think they'd sell.

Your not getting Hamsik or Sneijder. Wages will be far far to high for you to pay it. Goetze is going nowhere according to his agent. But then Metersacker said something similar. It would be better for Goetze to stay in Germany for at least another year (then he will prob end up at Real for 5 million or something).

Hazard may be on, but you are going to have to do some fast talking. Maybe you should of done it when you bought Gervinho. Or was Fab and Nasri leaving that much of a shock?

Mertesacker, Santos and Young is a good start to the day. Really need a world class CAM to be a definite top 4 team. Can't see us getting one though. Hamsik/Sneijder/Kaka/De Rossi etc are all wage heavy despite their quality.

I can't see us signing Cahill or Samba anymore. I'd love it if we did, but it'd mean that either of them would be a bench player - assuming that Verm and Per are out starting CB's.

As much as Bolton and Blackburn suck, I can't see a player of their quality leaving to be used as a squad player. But then again, stranger things have happened - Hargraves to City.

Bordeaux have also failed in an attempt to sign Chamakh on loan, rumors going around saying that Bendtner wont be going anywhere in this window.

Like everyone else I'd love another CAM, but I think realistically we should be expecting somebody like Martin. Especially considering that Arsene and Grimaldi have flown into France today. Could be Hazard though?

Nasri shits me so much now. Following Fabregas on twitter he's had nothing bad to say about Arsenal, still says 'we' and 'us' when talking about us and is clearly a fan. And the fact that he wouldn't go to any other club shows us he didn't leave for just any reason, he left to go home which I respect.

Nasri on the other hand used us from day 1, I hope he enjoys his 180k a week.

I have all the respect in the world for Fabregas, none for Nasri.

In brighter news, Hazard has apparently told Lille he wants to come to us today. Wenger was in France yesterday....maybe we did a little tapping up of our own.

Reportedly, the Cahill deal isn't quite 'dead' yet either.

Today I've read Mertesacker quotes from way back in 2004 saying he's been a lifelong arsenal fan and even owns an Arsenal jersey...that makes me happy. We need more players like him, Wilshere and Szczesny and less like Nasri and Clichy.

If in the last 18 hours or however much it is, we get Hazard, I'll be over the moon. If you told me a week ago we'd have Santos, Per, Young and Hazard by the deadline I'd have taken it without hesitating.

The question worth asking is why couldn't we have done this 3 weeks ago before we dropped 8 points...

If Hazard happens, who I rate extremely highly, I think we go back to 4th being our floor. And 3rd not being out of the question. IMO out of the top 3 Chelsea is the weak link with an aging Drogba and Lampard and question marks over Torres...I can imagine us getting past them.

Although them finishing fourth would just mean that russian f**kwit would spend another 200 million...

i lov eM'Vila but with SONG & PONG we dont need him, PONG could be anything and has a massive passion for the team.

Reports are that hazard was stunned that arsene had flown over to try and get him and that he wants to sign for arsenal, but he would rather stay with lille for the year, considering lille is like a second home for him.

And on mertesacker he has always been a arsenal fan so thats always good to know that we getting someone with passion for the team

Surely we'll nab one or a few of these players.

I think M'Vila/Hazard/Gotze are out of our league. Some of those figures are ridiculous - more than what we sold Fab and Nasri for in some instances. Quite frankly, they aren't worth that kind of money.

Montolivo for £10m and Vargas for £12m have been linked with us. That's far more reasonable. Good players too. Get those two, chuck in Samba and I think that's a great transfer window.
