Are any of the teams Kroenke own actually competitive? The Nuggets are dieing in the arse and may be forced to get ride of Carmelo Anthony who is rumoured to be moving every FA period. The Rams came into the season as division favourites and now will be battling for the no.1 draft pick. These teams like us don't spend much money at all in FA and are by no means finincial powerhouse. Infact I would say both are in the bottom half of their leagues financially.

If Usmanov will let us keep the Nasris and Fabregas's that we develop and let us actually spend (ie spend more then what we sell) then I'm all for it. Like Bunniesman said, if we tunr out like Man C then that's bad. If we turn out like the current Chelsea and Man U then I'm 100% for it.

If Kroenke is only interested in money then it's a win win for him to be bought out as well is it not?

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...ill-be-in-charge-for-as-long-as-he-wants.html

A lengthy but pretty interesting read on Kroenke.

There are some good bits and some not good bits in the article, but those two pieces I thought were the most telling.

Firstly, he only brought Arsenal in the first place to help his 1st team. He doesn't have any real loyalty or passion or motivation to do everything he can to get Arsenal to the top and keep us there.

Secondly, "self sustaining model" is code for "i'm not going to spend any money on transfers, i'm just gunna sit on my shares as they grow in value and sell one day for a massive profit."

By billionaire's stanards, Kroenke is small time. And he has little idea of what it takes to keep a big club successful in 2011 in a non salary capped league.

Usmanov is rich, even compared to most billionaires. And he gets it. He's said he wants to pour money in to 'steamroll' us to the top.

Kroenke is the traditional sort of owner, looking at his clubs as a money making business.

Usmanov is the Abramovich style new age owner. He's already made his fortune, he's now interested in dick measuring contests with his fellow billionaires via Football. Usmanov is the kind of owner who would give Wenger 50-100 million pounds per transfer window, and tell him he's fired if the money isn't spent by the end of deadline day. Then we'd win the League and he'd rub it in Roman's face at their secret Soviet Billionaires parties at the Kremlin.

And unlike Kroenke, Usmanov is specifically loyal to Arsenal. He is an Arsenal fan. If Usmanov wanted just any club he could go and buy some other club for much cheaper and power them to trophy contention. And he wouldn't have to deal with a fool like Kroenke on the way.

After reading that, I'm sold.

Bring on Usmanov.

Just like Kroenke's first club is Colorado, Usmanov's first club is Dinamo Moscow.
Usmanov has apparently been offered other Premier League clubs. He only wants Arsenal because he is a genuine fan. Those other clubs would be cheaper and easier to buy. He has said 'Arsenal or nothing' as far as his involvement in the EPL goes.

Kroenke looks at us the same way some Martin Place suit looks at Rio Tinto stocks. Shares to sit on to make maximum returns.

Usmanov looks at us as a vehicle on the road to winning.

And David Dein, who I think deserves almost as much credit as Wenger for our successful years had this to say more than 3 years ago:

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/fo...e-Usmanovs-money-or-slip-out-of-top-four.html

Arsenal's board were warned yesterday that they risked slipping out of the Champions League positions unless they sold up to Alisher Usmanov, the Uzbekistani multi-billionaire who owns 24.9 per cent of the club.

Many Arsenal supporters share the board's concern over the secretive Usmanov, although it is understood he would give Arsene Wenger up to £100million a year for transfers.

"That is a worry," Dein said. "Luckily, they have Arsene but you have to give the man a chance. I don't want to see Arsenal as the second or even third team in London. But the wealthier are going to get wealthier.

"We want to help Arsenal. He [Usmanov] would change the whole dynamic of the club. At Arsenal, something has to break."
And the byline:

June 2008. It's now October 2011 and those words seem pretty prophetic. Odds are we're about to drop out of the top 4 for the first time in over a decade and a half. If we sold to Usmanov instead of Kroenke back then, we'd be going toe to toe with Chelsea and United right now. Imagine keeping Nasri and Fabregas (the latter might talk about 'Barca DNA' but if we were winning the League and Champions League he would have stayed until he was 29/30) imagine buying Gotze and Hazard, Phil Jones and Joe Hart.

Hopefully the fanbase back in England gets mad enough and pressures Kroenke to get out and Usmanov to get in if this season ends up finishing as bad as it threatens to.

(Edit: and since that article it has become known that Usmanov is even richer than they thought he was back then)

A little behind the times, Carmelo plays for New York now.

Oh yeah the block buster with Chauncy and half the Knicks roster. The lock out is messing with my mind and I haven't even though about the NBA since the finals.

Well 20 minutes of vintage Arsenal, could have easily been 3-0 after 20...and then we went back to shit.

Second half could be anything, we could dominate, we could be dominated, the way these two teams defend, it could be 4-4.

I don't care if RVP wants double his current salary until he's 35. Kroenke has to burn his wage ceiling policy and pay the man.

Edit: and yay! Top half of the league!

We made that hard but a win is a win I guess. Agreed on Jenkinson, he is not good enough imo

Good to see RVP use that magnificent technique of his and go for placement and curl on the shot rather then power which he overdoes.

Agreed. Pretty sure I broke the light fixture hanging from my roof when he scored.

What was wrong with Jenks? He frequently got into space and delivered consistent and decent crosses?

A few times he dallied on the ball too much, for a guy who only played eight times for Charlton last season, I thought he did and is doing well.

He wont play there everygame either. Arsene will rotate Santos, Koscielny and Jenks in the RB position apparently.
