Just 6 points away from top 4. And that's Newcastle. They won't stay where they are for long. Just 4 points behind our main rival for top 4.

We're just 3 points behind Spurs and 4 behind Liverpool after our worst start in 50 years. Top 4 = We got this.

Oh please, I was merely retaliating to the haters. It's not possible to play any worse than we have to date, and to still be within touch says a lot. 3 and 4 point behind our main rivals. Very doable.

Just on Jenkinson, today I've read he's a genuine Arsenal fan. Last season he was a paying member of the crowd at our home games. So I genuinely hope he comes good... he might not leave us as soon as Barca or City show some interest if he does come good.

And apparently Vermaelen has signed a new long term deal. Awesome news as in my books he's one of our top 3 best players, and at his best a world class CB. Now hopefully he's back fit and healthy asap.

Arshavin and Song set for contract talks as well.

http://www.arsenalnews.co.uk/arshavin-amp-song-set-for-contract-talks/link/96911/

Article also hints that Walcott and RVP are going to be ready to talk soon also.

If this is true, and the Vermaelen news is true, we are in good stead. We need to buy a creative attacking midfielder (Hazard, Martin, Goetze), Defensive midfielder (M'Villa), star striker (anyone who has proven they can score consistently), and another centre back (Samba, Cahill).

Interesting, yesterday I was listening to Football Weekly and they reckon that Arsenal will not sign a contract extension with Robin van Persie but may indeed just keep him until the end of his current contract, allowing a bosman instead of a money-making transfer.

I just don't understand the logic on letting him go on a free. They can't possibly have that in their heads.

Well we didn't spend the Fabregas money, so as a fan I'd rather we kept him to the end of his contract (when he'd be 30) instead of selling him if we're just going to bank the cash.

I've heard Vermaelen is aiming to be back for the Chelsea game, hopefully that's true. With him we'll have half a chance.

About time a little luck went our way. And our next game against Marseille could go a long way to deciding the winner of the group. We win it and we're infront by 4 points, we win the group and we should get through the round of 16. Once we're in the final 8...you never know.

3 points on the same weekend United, Chelsea and Liverpool combined for 1 point between the lot of them is awesome. RVP, Gervinho and Ramsey were outstanding. Big match against Chelsea coming up, if we played it a month ago it could have been ugly, but the fact that they're coming off a loss with Drogba and Bosinwga getting red carded...we're in with a chance.

Edit: just seen a fascinating stat. Against Chelsea, when Drogba is playing our record is 1w-3d-10l. When he is not playing, we are 2w-1d-0l. Him not playing could be a massive factor.

Of course it would be, it's not like he isnt a huge threat.

That gets said before every Drogba V Arsenal game...

Very happy with the win. Gervinho is beginning to show some form and behind Silva, Robin is the best player in the league right now.

I'm concerned with Chamakh though. We can't expect Robin to play every fixture this season and unfortunately our alternative hasn't scored a league goal in nearly 12 months.

With us having so much depth on the wings, and very little depth at striker. I'd like to see Walcott get a go in the middle when RVP is being rested, AOC has shown he's ready for the top level, play him on the wing, and get Walcott to forget about crossing and the things he's not good at and just have him spend 90 minutes using his pace to get behind big slow centrebacks.

Better than Chamakh at least...
