That gets said before every Drogba V Arsenal game...

Very happy with the win. Gervinho is beginning to show some form and behind Silva, Robin is the best player in the league right now.

I'm concerned with Chamakh though. We can't expect Robin to play every fixture this season and unfortunately our alternative hasn't scored a league goal in nearly 12 months.

Chamakh scored against Blackburn but I agree he is not an EPL starter.

Is Park any good?

Quality finish from him in todays Carling cup. And he did score a hattrick for his country recently. Watching today's game he showed more than Chamakh has in a long time. I could see him being the quality backup to RVP we have lacked for a long time.

Also Arshavin was excellent. The best I've seen him play in the last year or two. Scored a very good goal and assisted in Park's goal. He really does seem to have gone through a resurrection recently.

We're now into the final 8 of the Carling cup. Depending on how the draw goes and how the final games in this round goes we could face a Cardiff or a Crystal Palce...or a United/City/Chelsea/Liverpool.

Now onto the big game this weekend...hopefully Vermaelen is available, we might just have a chance.

He has a more complete game than Chamakh anyway. Chamakh almost seems like a misfiring head on legs at the moment.

Typical, the one game I can't watch, Andrey has a brilliant game.

He confirmed on Twitter that he only came off due to a cramp, which is a huge relief. I can't see him starting against Chelsea though. No match fitness and the Big F*cking German and Kos are looking solid.

What. A. Game. We completely dominated them in the second half. A few weeks ago we would have gone to pieces after being down 2-1, but this time we stormed back.

RVP is the best player in the premier league and top 5 in the world. I don't care about some nuffy from City, it is a lot easier to look good over there, how many players could put an EPL team on their shoulders and drag them to the top 4? That is what RVP is doing.

This could be a turning point to our season, the opposite of the Carling cup final from last season. A convincing win AT Chelsea. One day I think people will look back on this as a famous win for us.

Also: RVP 3 million pounds, Torres 50 million pounds...RVP is twice the player he is.

RVP is not Messi/Xavi/Iniesta/Silva/Robben/Ronaldo so no he is not top five in the world.
"Nuffy from City" Go back to your rabbit-hole and learn something about football, the rabbits there will know more than you do.
Heck, throw in Sneijder, Ozil, as well. I know I'm forgetting a few people.
I missed defenders in that list.
He's an amazing player in great form but he is not in the top five in the world.

See, Bunnies Man, if you just kept it about how well van Persie played and what a cracking player he is, everyone would agree with you.

When you start spouting "some nuffy from City", then you look like a goose.

I think we all get Bunniesman by now. Whenever one of his teams win, he waxes lyrical and makes out they're on a championship run. It's almost becoming his own personal cliche.

I never said that. And in case it needs saying...I don't think we can win the league this season. 3rd or 4th in the league, final 8 in Champions and say 1 of the FA or League cup and I'll count this season as a massive success. Next season if Ramsey develops into the top class partner for Wilshere that recent form has suggested he could do, and we get a full season out of RVP/Wilshere/Vermaelen and make 1 big signing, then we can give the league title a shot, but this season top 4 will be a success.

And about Silva, what has he done to warrant top 5 on the planet? Valencia with him came 4th, 10th, 6th and 3rd. When he left, they came...3rd and are 4th currently.

If RVP left Arsenal, we wouldn't be top 6 anymore.

Now all of a sudden Silva is supposedly top 5, it's pretty easy to look good surrounded by half a dozen world class players. RVP would look even better if he had the support around him that Silva does.

Best player in the premier league.

Lol@bundesliga aka Central European feeder league for big clubs and big leagues. I'll give you the hot tip:rumour is if Dortmund flames out of the CL like they will, Gotze will be an Arsenal player by the end of January.

This time next year, Gotze-Wilshere-Ramsey considered one of the best 3 midfields in the world.

If you guys sold Modric before the season started, didn't replace him with anyone and had a striker score as many goals in 2011 as RVP and as many vital big game goals as RVP has...and if after losing Modric you looked like having a shot of finishing as high as last year, and such a high proportion of that credit was due to that one player, I'd rate him as highly as I rate RVP.

If we finish top 4 this season, and RVP plays the entire season the way he's started, I think it'll be fair to give him 90% of the credit for our top 4 spot. I don't think a single player has ever been as crucial for a top 4 contender's chances than RVP this season. And the fact that he's delivering despite the pressure, and with our only players who could be describe as world class on the sidelines, means he warrants my descriptions of him.

On non RVP talk: Chelsea looked so old and slow, especially their back 4. Walcott terrorised Cole and Terry will be having nightmares of RVP for weeks. I think they're vulnerable. Their best players are their oldest, they massively overpaid for Torres, Mata is good but not a game changer. Won't surprise me if they finish as low as 4th. We're just 3 points from third, 1st and second looks pretty set in stone, but I think we can get third if we take confidence from this game and Vermaelen comes back and stays on the field this time.

And a delicious stat: RVP scored more goals at Stamford bridge yesterday than Torres has his entire career at Chelsea.

Oh my god just stop already you pathetic troll.
Silva over-rated  Your point about him at Valencia compared to City is geniused, you seem to be ignoring the obvious that players' fortunes change at any given point. Xavi was considered to be only a very good midfielder not all that long ago - now he is considered possibly the best midfielder of all time. Gareth Bale was the joke of the EPL and a horrible fullback before Harry moved him to left wing. And scoring a hat-trick off of three defensive blunders doesn't compare to a player who tore apart ManUnited.

He is not the best player in the EPL, full stop, nor is he in the top five in the world. I really like the guy and he is a fantastic player, as I previously indicated, but he doesn't compare to Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Robben, Ronaldo and so on.
And your comment that he is the most important player ever to a team's fortune is as mindless and foolish as we associate you with.
Dude, your point regarding Modric is moot because like Arsenal we would have either replaced him with our own players or new, lesser quality players that fulfill the same role, just not as effectively. What happened to Gervinho, Ramsey, Walcott, Arteta and so on? Those guys have set up a fair amount of his goals and contributed to your teams success, yet you seem to be ignoring that this is a team game. If we had lost Modric, Sandro would have moved straight in - he may regardless. We probably would have attempted to buy someone like - for example - Gotze as well.

Yawn. This debate is boring. You guys won't convince me I'm wrong, I won't convince you you're wrong. Let's move on.

Wow, just wow.

I watched the game at a club with some mates after being at Oktoberfest all day. Needless to say I was in fine voice. I don't think I've hugged that many strangers in a while. Even the bar staff thanked us for being their entertainment for the evening.

Theo's trip -> goal. Hilarious.

By January? Name your price, name your odds

The fact that you made it a hot tip means it's wrong just like Nightingale, Boyd, Bennett to Souffs, Souffs winning the comp, Inglis Churchill Medal winner, Carney to the Stains...

You also seem to have the impression I give a shit where Götze goes but Arsenlol will be better for him with no competition he won't waste away on the bench like he will at the Franco's or Barca. His international spot will be replaced so he'd better be careful

edit

Lmao your hot tip comes from the Mirror smh
