You need to worry yourself with getting through possibly Milan, Napoli or even the Pillenschlucker before you start to talk about quarter final matches with a team that casts a history shadow over your club.

Nasri? I don't miss him. I think we won that deal by getting over 20 million for a player in his contracts last season and who is overrated. The way Gervinho has settled so quickly into the Premier League I think before long he'll be better than Nasri.

Statistically, Gervinho has already out-performed Nasri's first season and it's not even December.

Hazard, Gotze and Thiago are all Golden boy award nominees (along with Wilshere). Those four are the best young players on the planet, if we could have 2 of them in the centre of our midfield, it would go a long way to putting us right back in contention.

Thiago would not cost as much as Gotze or Hazard though, which is a major factor unless you are a club with either a sugar-daddy or a massive income.
Both Hazard and Gotze will cost at least £50 million each, Thiago on the other hand wouldn't demand much over £30 million at best due to the supply and demand differences between Barca and BvB/Lille.

I'd hardly say they are the four best young players on the planet. Certainly Neymar, Alexandre Pato, Gareth Bale, Cristian Eriksen, Javier Pastore and Nuri Sahin would each have some claim to such a title. And I know I am forgetting a few others! Romelu Lukaku, Thomas Miller, Toni Kroos, Mario Balotelli, etc.
And you can hardly use the Golden Boy Awards as evidence to laugh off Neymar or even players such as Sandro (well they can now technically) or Leandro, Lucas and so on because it is a Europe-only award.

Ounce of talent? RVP is better than every player in the Bundesliga. Vermaelen is a better CB than any CB in the Bundesliga.

Vermaelen was a PL 1st 11 player before the injury. Since he's come back he's already transformed our defense. And he plays in a much tougher, faster and stronger league.
