You mean other than him possibly causing harm to his reputation?

I for one want to remember him as he is. But if i had to choose between bringing no one in or bringing Henry back for a bit i'd choose Henry. Obviously the best outcome for us would be buying someone but we only seem to be looking at people who we are already priced out of getting Gotze, Reus, Hazard etc.

Agreed.

I wonder if Arsene is regretting selling Traore?

Agreed.

I imagine right now he is.

I still can't understand how quick he got rid of Traore when we still have dead wood lying around the club, Almunia, Denilson (on loan), Squillaci, Chamakh, Arshavin etc. I'm not saying it was the wrong idea to sell Traore, cause it was, but one week he's playing against United then the next he's playing with QPR.

I wish he had been that ruthless like geniuss like Bendtner.

We're not priced out of anything. We're reportedly projected to make a 60m profit this financial year. Add to that the unspent Fabregas money and we could spend close to 100 million in January without putting ourselves at risk financially.

If we wanted to get both Gotze AND Hazard the money wouldn't be the problem.

The standard of teams that would take our duds can't/won't afford 50-90k. And unless you have a player wanting to play badly enough to take a paycut we're stuck with them.

Our wage policy gets us great value on our good players, but stuffs us on our crap players.

It's not about having the money, cause we have always had the money. But as soon as a player becomes worth upwards of 15-20 mill he's out of reach. Wenger might spend a few mill this window but it won't be on a marquee player.

Exactly.

I have no doubt that we accepted offers for Almunia, Denilson, Squillaci and Bendtner over the summer. But it's their wage demands that would have been the problem. Hence why only another EPL team was able to take Bendtner on loan.

As much as I dislike the guy, Nicklas would be a better option than Chamakh at the moment.

Bendtner is more of a talent than Chamakh but his arrogance and overinflated ego made him precisely what you don't want in a backup/squad player.

A French source has said Hazard wants us and we want Hazard. And his club will sell him to us for 30 million if we loan him back to them for the rest of the season.

After Wilshere and Gotze he is the best young player in Europe, he'd be worth it. A better version of Nasri. If Wenger sold him for over 20 million he should be happy to pay 30 for Hazard.

City, Chelsea and Liverpool drop points. We win tonight and we're in top 4. In fact, if we win we're just 10 points from the top.

If we buy the right players in January, plus Sagna and Wilshere due back then we could be just close enough to be the darkhorse.

With injuries and all, we've matched City's points since our bad start.

BUT I am a not so confident about tonight because I remember last season every time we had a chance to gain on our rivals and take advantage of their missteps...we'd make bigger missteps of our own. Fingers crossed.

Don't know if anyone is watching the game... but that ball from Rosicky was superb. I thought Gervinho f**ked it again with too many touches. Thank god he put it away in the end.

Superb ball from Rosicky - pity RvP had taken a blow to the head 30 seconds earlier, otherwise he'd have buried it.

I only saw from the 40th minute onwards (and was half tanked), but it was one of those games that if played 20 times, we'd win 19.5 of out 20.

Henessey made some terrific saves, but I feel that Wolves were without doubt the luckier side on the night. Disappointing, as we would have edged up to fourth.

Loved the passion shown yet again from RvP and Vermaelen. Even if the latter was carded for it.

27 shots to 6. Enough said.

We need another top striker desperately. Too often if RVP doesn't score we don't win. It's simply not a good plan. I'd love Pato.

FFS City is scum. Rumour is they're after Hazard. Nasri barely plays now, he'd never see a game outside the Carling cup if they get Hazard on top of everyone they already have. If they do get him they should sell Nasri back to us for half of what we got for him.

It's the January transfer window... Every big money club is going to be linked to everyone. I wouldn't worry too much about it.

United and Chelsea lose. Tottenham draw. We win.

Back in the top 4 where we belong. 3 points from third, 9 points from the top 2. So since our first 7 games, we've actually gained on City and United. What a turnaround.

Would love to see him play against Leeds. That's the sort of game we've struggled to win when we've rested RVP in recent times.

Hopefully all the paperwork and technicalties are done by then.

Also Wenger has hinted that Wilshere could come back ahead of schedule.

In bad news to balance it all out, Verm picked up an injury in the game overnight but he should only miss 1 league game.

Seems like only a week ago that I introduced/toyed with the idea of Titi returning - can't wait to see the great man back in action. He's one of the main reasons I started following Arsenal.

Also read the same about Wilshere - great news. Sagna is making good progress too. So much so that Wenger has stated that he wont be bringing in a fullback this window.

Unfortunately, Diaby is still MIA. Gotta feel sorry for the lad. He hasn't been the same since 'that' tackle in 2006.
