And on ramsey, he played his best football when Fabregas was here, so hopefully Cazorla going into that role sparks him up again

Plus he had a good olympics so thats a good sign

Yep you're right. It's cause of the role Ramsey had when Fab was here. He was pretty much free to just float around the pitch cause Song was the shield while Fab was the creator, leaving Ramsey to just do whatever he wanted.

I can't see where he's going to get the game time though. He's behind Arteta, Song, Cazorla, Wilshere (when he's healthy) and probably Diaby at the CM spot. There will definitely be injuries but he's not going to be getting near the same amount of time on the field that he had last season.

12m initially is what I've read, with add ons in the future.

Absolute f*cking bargain! Considering that Liverpool are rumoured to be paying that for Joe f*cking Allan

I'm super excited about this season. I was expecting one, at most two decent signings, but two world class strikers and a midfielder? Wow - this isn't the usual Arsenal offseason.

I'm not too fussed with signing a new out and out RB. Ultimately a versatile CB who is just as adept at RB would be preferred. A Micah Richards type player.

Might be a bit of a stretch. Cazorla is WC. But Giroud and Podolski definitely aren't imo.

Giroud led the scoring in Ligue 1. 21 goals. 1 more than "world class" Hazard.

Podolski scored 18 goals in the Bundesliga last season.

Hazard had 16 assists to go with his 20 goals. And Giroud is a striker meaning it's easier for him to score.

18 goals is hardly WC.

We obviously have different standards for World Class. To me it means would be close to a starter in every team in the world.

cant argue with that, its just that I dont see Goons or Spurs spending that type of money normally

take Oscar for example, we tried to get him before the Chavs, we offered 11mill and Intrnationale were holding out for 15mill, then along come the Chavs and offer 25mill, 10mill above his valuation

I read a quote the other day from Internationale's CEO saying something like, "we were holding out for 15mill and then Chel$ki offered us 25mill and we were very happy"

one thing Spurs have in common with you guys is that neither of us behave like Chavs or Citeh which is why I was surprised to see you guys pay so much for Cazorla

time will tell if he's worth it I guess

IMO we have surpassed United as the biggest challenge to City going back to back.

Stick to winding up hillbilly Eels fans in the NRL forum. Its what your good at. ;-)

I'd agree with that.

I see Carzola as a replacement for Nasri/Arshavin and will play on the left and come in to create. The Ox on the right for a more direct threat, RvP up front with Arteta, Song, Wilshire, Diaby etc. etc. playing as a central three.

Still think you lack a bit of steel in your team if the going gets tough, and around March RvP will be unsettled as his contract is running out and you will blow up again.

If you lose RvP then no one in your team will shoot and you will lose points by drawing 0-0 despite having 97% of the ball and putting 700 passes together. The pundits will say its wonderful stuff but it will still only be good for 4th.

Bout to head out so i'll reply to the whole thing later but thought i'd say something about this.

All of those players would walk into any teams in the world. It says more about Spain then it does about Cazorla that he behind those players.

It's not like he never plays though. He played all (i think), off the bench, of Spain's game at Euro 2008, missed the 2010 World Cup through injury and got picked but didn't play much of this years Euro's. He's still played close to 50 games for them since 2008.

I knew a Real Madrid fan would know how good Cazorla is haha. He played awesome in both games against you last season apparently. He got an injury time free kick to tie the first game up didn't he?

I think it was the second game at the Bernebau, I'm not too sure but I think it was near the end of the season. I recall at the time I was pulling my hair out because Barcelona were really breathing down our necks.
Agreed about Spain, it's ridiculous how loaded they are in virtually every position. Valdes and Reina are all great goalkeepers but are behind Casillas, for example. But it isn't as ridiculous as Brazil at the World Cup - that the majority of those players are under 23 is ludicrous.

Podolski scored 18 goals in the Bundesliga last season.

Being a striker, for Giroud to have more goals would make sense. You do realize Hazard isn't a striker, right? Or did you forget that Hazard is probably one of the top five young players in the world right now?

Giroud and Podolski are quality but they aren't world class.

Trust me Twiz, 12 million for Cazorla is not "so much" by any stretch of the imagination. It is one of the bargain buys of the season so far. I wouldn't say he's exactly world class but he's an excellent, excellent player. "So much" would be Moutinho money.

Cazorla was one of the best players in spain, he rejected madrid a few years ago, and barca are loaded in that position.. For 15 mill hes a steal.

On Giroud he led his team to a title, and wont have to do as much at arsenal.

Plus we create 5times the chances that those clubs do so his 18 could easily be 20 - 25 in the epl

If we get
RVP - 21
Giroud - 17
Podolski - 14
Walcott - 8
Ramsey - 5
Cazorla - 7
AOC - 4
Gervinho - 5
Song - 4
Arteta - 4

If we can get that kind of return from the attack and Mids plus whatever defence gives then arsenal will have a massive chance in EPL this season

Cazorla's a great signing, I don't know why it has taken this long for him to be at a decent club to tell the truth. I reckon Padolski is world class but Giroud isn't, it would be like saying Chamakh was world class before he signed for Arsenal

I feel podolski will struggle for some reason, Giroud is better than Chamakh, he can score with both feet, willing to shoot, can head the ball, has good height and strength to hold up the play and ball

Reports coming out saying Man Utd willing to offer Welbeck in the RVP deal, 100% BS most likely but if it is it isnt too bad a deal even if we selling to a title rival

24mill for a bloke that was in the last 10months of his contract and going to walk to man utd in 4 is brilliant buisness

Cazorla and Podolski cost that amount, plus we scored for 4 without rvp on weekend,

Good deal for him. Sooner or later those injuries will catch up to him, let alone the injuries he'll get during the season. Last season was bizarre. First time we've had him on the field for that long. One year left and we get that for him? Yeah, I'm pretty happy. Put it this way. That pays for M'Vila, and we'd be far stronger across the park.

Foxsports are saying 30mill but that could be Euros.

Some of these fees are never known by the media and its just guess work.

Just like Modric fees being reported anywhere from 23 to 40mill

Cause RVP and Rooney > Little Pea, Welbeck, Berbs

But anyway

If we get Sahin and hold onto song at start of season it will be

----------Song--------Arteta-------
------------/-----Sahin---------
Cazorla----------------Gervinho
--------------Podolski----------

Goals Galore, then we got the likes ok AOC, Giroud, Walcott to Destroy Tired Defences with 20 to go
