Hancock was only half of a decent movie. The plot twist spun it inexorably downward into muddled mediocrity.

Dark Knight, Wall-E, Kung Fu Panda, Ironman, There Will Be Blood, Pineapple Express, Be Kind Rewind. Probably in that order. Not necessarily.

Half Decent is still better than anything else listed.

2008 has been a sh*t year for movies

yeah ive seen it.

Thought it was good. its not as great as some people make it out to be. i think the guys that made the movie try to make it seem smarter then it actually is.

definately worth a watch...not in my top list tho.

Only movies ive seen from this year (i think) are Run Fatboy Run, Be Kind Rewind and Semi-Pro, rathe them in that order. Run Fatboy Run was pretty good i thought, whilst be kind rewind was ok without being outstanding and semi pro was pretty rubbish

2008 was a crap year for movies. Dark Knight was garbage. I was so dissapointed in that movie. After hearing that Heath Ledger was the new "greatest villain ever" I couldn't wait to see it. I thought that he was luke warm at best. TBH I reckon Jack Nicholson was by far a better Joker. To compare Ledger's Joker to the likes of Darth Vader was an absolute travesty. I haven't seen anything that I'd rate as a decent movie this year. Will go and see Quantum of Solace before the end of the year hoping that it will rescue the situation but I doubt it. I have a feeling that QoS is another over hyped piece of crap.

Wait till "The Day the Earth Stood Still" comes out.

Top so far:

1 - Iron Man
2 - Burn After Reading
3 - City of Ember
4 - The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas
5 - The Dark Knight
6 - Let the Right One In
7 - Kung Fu Panda
8 - Wall E
9 - Australia
10 - Brideshead Revisited

Honourable mentions go to:

- Twilight (took my daughter, not as bad as I expected)
- Mamma Mia (obligatory chick flick with the missus, watching Pierce Brosnan sing was good for a laugh. And hey, I was a kid of the 70s)
- Slumdog Millionaire (another Danny Boyle effort and much better than "Sunshine")

if people thinks its been a bad year for movies then maybe they should expand their horizons beyond the typical Hollywood bullsh*t like Hancock, Dont Mess with the Zohan, never Back Down etc etc.

Diving Bell and the Butterfly, Mongol and Edge of heaven lead the way for a number of top class foreign films in 2008.

Theres been a few good more mainstream ones as well. 3:10 to Yuma, American Gangster, Rambo, Taken, Burn After Reading, Hellboy 2, Step Brothers, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Ironman...

So it hasn't been an awful year unless youve only gone to see Zohan, Hancock, Never Back Down, How She Move, Step Up 2 the Streets, and Meet the Spartans...

As a father of small kids, I have seen a grand total of one 2008 movie, so I'll vote for that:

I'll see all the movies mentioned above on DVD in 2009.

Im surprised a few people liked Hancock.

The first half-hour was good but the movie then descended into some of the most inane, mish-moshed pile of sh*t ive seen.

I was just listings movies I'd seen this year. All the movies following Iron Man were fairly average.
