The push for Burns that someone in the club was using the Manly Daily for during the 2005-06 off season. Witty being used as a scapegoat for the zillion losses in the second half of 2005.

obviously you weren't at the games where he put on his best impression of a speed bump you dickhead! he is useless and will only be playing bartercard cup next year

UNAUSTRALIAN!

You are kidding! Every player that moves to another club is walking out on their "mates" then. If it had of been, lets say Paul Carige walking out on the Eels, the response would have been "See you later and best of luck with any new club you like", even if their mates needed him. Only difference is Lyon is a dog or a fat f**k, Carige is respected for his descision.

Yes I know it defies all logic, but this fat f**k resembles a lighning bolt on the football pitch, not to mention he must be some sort of hog. I mean, why does he have to score all the tries?? And since when is a fat f**k allowed to win the "Man of Steel" award.

Good news folks...

Centre Mark Gasnier, meanwhile, was cleared of a hip flexor problem after fearing he had suffered a similar injury to the one which dogged his recent finals campaign with St George Illawarra. Gasnier is more likely to have suffered a cork, and is expected to be fit for Australia's next game, against the Lions in Brisbane in a fortnight.

Bring back Hodges and we'll be alright.

That doesn't count.....you need to have some sort of opponent when judging talent...
every1 knows the ESL does not even compare to an under 12's game here in oz...
my grandma could do that against that bunch of wankers...

the fat f**k didn't just move clubs...he dogged em mid-season and went and played in a local a-grade comp....where he belongs if u ask me...

Well that under 12s beat the Australian test team. Maybe, as you suggested, your grandma might do better.

Why play in an A-grade comp when you can play for millions for anybody you want.

better than moving mid-season

My point about Carige (and it could be any player that is not as good as Lyon) is that because he is so good, in peoples minds what he did is unforgiveable, and if a lesser player did the same thing, who gives a rats, there is nothing to forgive. Any club could and has got rid of players mid contract and against their wishes, but everyone moves on.

it's not cause he left mid-season, or they released him mid-season...he didn't even ask for a release he just hopped on a plane and did a runner. no one knew he was gone until he didn't turn up o training...at least clubs tell the player they are gettin rid of them mid-contract...

Actually you will find that he asked the club for some personal leave due to personal problems, which was granted at the time. He didn't hop on a plane and not tell anyone where he went.

He then tried to get a release to play for another club which was not forthcoming - Parramatta allowed him firstly to play with Wee Waa as he was tired of city life. He then found a contract in England which Parramatta allowed him to take up under the condition he couldn't be released to play in the NRL until his contract ceased this year.

we lost willie tonga cause of lyon, you dope. if he lyon would have gone in 2003 atleast we would still have had tonga.

So Parramatta got a double blow. Loss of a promising junior and Loss of an excellent first grader. it took us a whole year to get back to our best.

If Witt was any good, he would still be at Manly.

Don't worry about Lyon. You can put all the crap on him that you like, but he will perform for MANLY next year. Thats right.. MANLY. He has answered all his critics when it comes to playing RL. Most RL experts have him in the top 10 players currently running around. The rest don't have a clue.

??? Peter Peters laughed at Parramatta for letting him (Witt) go, as he was an outstanding player  How do you feel about paying for him to be running around in the bartercard cup then

They say class is permanent and form is temporary and I expect to see Jamie Lyon playing good footy again real good footy but he was poor against GB and I wouldn't have him playing again this series as I would rather have King, Gasnier and Hodges as their form warrants selection.

That said he is still a Class A merkin and a man of no morals.....so he will fit in perfectly at Manly :D

Witty is the "X Factor" that the Warriors have been missing since 2002.
