Doesn't matter. I'm not a manly fan, I don't follow their rumours and I find it interesting. Also if it was Gallen offered a huge contract to break his deal with us and he asked for a release I would like to read about it rather then not know.

Lyon agreed to terms, and he went of early. He still may be right and I'm glad he shared the info with the public. Must suck having your captain want out.

This is going to cause a huge sh1tfight one way or another.

FFS Phil Slothfield and his nothing story have completely drawn attention away from the more pressing story about the tragic passing of Jon Mannah

Slothfield needs to be put down for his repeated inaccurate reporting of news

it also shows how much of a mug club Titans are. Just throwing money at some players hoping it'll fill the holes of their awful club. It might work with below pars idiots like Dave Taylor but not somewhat respectable players.

Set for the spoon this year, the good ol' Titans !

Rothfield is a joke.

Compare the two articles.

SMH: Direct quotes from Lyon specifically stating he never contemplated leaving Manly this year and hopes to be there for the remainder of his career.

DT: Rampant speculation and rumour mongering that Manly are 'trying to convince' Lyon to stay. A single quote towards the end that denies the entire premise of their article.

To all manly fans ,

I just wanted to take this opportunity to set the record straight and reassure all manly fans of my commitment to the manly sea eagles .

You have heard what the journalists and reporters have had to say, I would like to clear a few things up from side.

Titans had approached manly and my manager about me joining them , on Thursday night my manager contacted me with an offer of 4 years starting immediately . He asked me to think about it half an hour as it was such a big offer , actually it was quite ridiculous .
I can tell you right now that I did not need the half hour to think about it.
I was never going to the Gold Coast.

At no stage did I approach titans , meet with anyone from the titans or agree to anything at all with them .

I never ever asked to be released from manly and never did I intend too.

Rumours that I have done this to get more money from manly are way off the mark , I would never put them in that position .

I love this club and I'm proud every time I put on the manly jersey . The last 24 hours have just shown what a tight knit group we are with the support I have received from my team mates .

I trust all manly fans can see through some of the rubbish that has been reported and know I'm 100% committed to this club .

Can't wait for round one and hopefully a few more seasons after that in the maroon and white .

Cheers
Killer

Serious questions need to be asked of the Titans' conduct. Inducing a player to break a contract and spreading rumours through the media to put pressure on is a disgusting tactic.

Doesnt make Lyon any less of a sook. Pull on a Blues jersey you f*ckin peaheart!

I love how his manager gave him half an hour to think about moving to a new club in another state. Says a lot about how managers work - and who drives deals. I would have thought a decent manager would know his clients intentions.

So either Manager shopped around at random looking for a great deal, and potentially great commission if he could persuade his client to switch (giving him half an hour is hardly persuasion), or the client gave the manager the green light to shop around.

Credit to Lyon for nipping it in the bud. I wonder what really went on behind the scenes though.

The Titans have come out of this looking like a completely clueless club. Still, Dave Taylor has cured his homesickness, and is now a 9 hour drive from home, rather than 2 flights of 1.5 hours each........

They could have got him next year if they didnt f*ck it all up now!

Lulz.

I've got zero issues with Killer if he takes the cash and runs next year tbh. He's got a retirement to think about and he clearly isn't the media type (We've got Jason King doing the off field stuff for him!), and I don't think he'd be too keen on coaching. If the Titans throw this cash at him again, he should take it and run and I don't think any Manly fan would ever begrudge him it.

He has been nothing short of a rock for the club and the near decade of class he has given us has yielded two premierships. You could tell how vital he was when he left the pitch against the Dogs in the finals last year...He is the club games elite centre in his 30's FFS...
