Who has Hasler "poached"? An assistant and a talent scout. Arko is carrying on like the entire first grade side has crossed the harbour.

And the irony of Arko

Boyd, Knight, Walker, Brown, Dorahy, O'Neill, Branighan, Irvine, Higgs, Hamilton, Roberts, Carroll, Sedaris, Hill, Shearer, Lyons........

You just don't get it. Its ok for us to poach.

Hey Einstein, Hamilton went from Manly to Norths, As usual Norths were poaching Manly players, Wayne Springall, Chris Montgomery.... the list is almost endless.

A copper playing in the front row on the weekend. Those were the days.

I wonder if he got in trouble for taking a leak in the middle of Lang Park?

Wonder how many clubs have had an emerging great coach and didn't realise it . . . thought they'd get away with procrastinating a little bit longer.

At the end of the day, Manly are no worse off than they were in about 2003 and look what happened in the years to follow. Every time Manly go through a rough patch (there was another in the late 80s, early 90s) they come out the other side with premierships. There's no reason to think the same won't happen again.

It's almost like the circus rolled into town when this lot of clowns took over the Eagles. After all of the bumbling and fumbling that we already know of, through recent days they have actually approached the Bulldogs with a request that they might buy out Hasler's 2012 contract and allow him to leave now with no expense to them. Clearly they don't wish to pay out any settlement. They've then looked for possible technical breaches in his contract to instigate an ugly argument with the goal of legal agreement for Hasler to then leave with minimised expense.

Fancy ringing your opponent, who has already got under your guard and displayed far more nous and professionalism and then asking if you could please assist us with the current mess we are in by funding the exit of our successful head coach who you have already signed. I wonder if Penn or Perry when making the call were on bended knee. If this whole mess wasn't so sad it would be hilarious. Just unbelievable.

And as for a couple of points out of the Herald yesterday re Hasler's supposed behaviour with regard to players contracts. My mail is that Hasler had been arguing with the Board since last April across ongoing months for approval and sign off of a) his contract extension, b) an upgrade and extension of Foran's contract, c) the sign off of Hopate with a deal locking him and his brother into the Eagles for the longer term, and d) the upgrading and extension of Cherry-Evans current contract. Not one of these issues was resolved due to stone walling and a disfunctional board room. And they wonder why they are in such a mess, yet now want to throw stones at Hasler's integrity.

Exactly what professionalism have the dogs shown? They've really done nothing more than open a checkbook. They've then gone to the media to increase the pressure on Manly. I'm not saying Manly has not done anything wrong (in fact I'm not even saying they've done anything right) but the Bulldogs have hardly been exuding professionalism.
