Manly don't want Hasler in 2012

No. They were talking about Cleary being the first to coach another club the season after winning the GF (obviously saying this before the GF).

Well, if Hasler does join the Doggies next year, this will make both the Sea Eagles/Bulldogs matches next year (Rd 8 at ANZ Stadium, Rd 20 at Brookvale) very interesting, especially the one at Brookvale. Although it's still a long way away, no doubt that Ch9 will definitely want to have the Rd 20 match as one of their Friday night matches and try to milk as much publicity from it in the week leading up to the match in order to boost tv ratings. Ch9 will be aiming to maximise ratings as much as they can next year, especially since the recent press release stating they're in a lot of debt. I can also see that match at Brookie having a 20,000 sellout crowd attendance.

There's also a 50% chance the Rd 8 match will be televised, since Fox will have both Dragons/Roosters and Storm/Warriors matches on Anzac Day, hence leaving 6 matches remaining and Ch9 broadcasting 3 of them. Broncos/Titans (FNF game into QLD) and Eels/Tigers are the only two big matches that round that I think Ch9 will target

If Canterbury take on Hasler for next year and tell Dymock he doesn't have the job for next year then they are a very unethical operation. They agreed to a one year deal and so should do the honorable thing and stick to it.

Why? If I were Dymock I'd be looking forward to learning under a proven Premiership winning coach.

If Dymock takes over the reigns and the Dogs give us more in 2012 that they gave in 2010 and 2011 then Dymock could stuff his repuation for years to come.

He actually stands to learn and enhance his reputation by becoming assistant to Des.

Making an accusation that they believed to be true is not defamation. Try again.
If unfair dismissal was valid then there would have been more coaches going to their former employers to court. It's not going to court either way.

Actually believing something is true isn't a defence. If they can actually prove it was true that's a different matter. It could go to court if they decide to not compensate Hasler in any way, how many coaches do you hear of who get sacked, but don't get compensated for it?

they claim to have some http://www.abc.net.au/news/2011-11-11/manly-cuts-ties-with-hasler/3660488/?site=melbourne

Penn said Hasler fronted the board but there was enough evidence he had been poaching support staff to justify his sacking.

"Without going into absolute specifics, we believe that he had been actively involved in taking staff to the Bulldogs," Penn said.

"We believe we have very strong evidence that he has breached his contract."

Several members of Hasler's backroom staff have already announced they are off to the Bulldogs, including recruitment guru Noel Cleal and assistant coach Kelly Egan.

But young playmaker Kieran Foran, also rumoured to be in the Bulldogs' crosshairs, yesterday confirmed he would be staying at Brookvale Oval in 2012.

Penn said he told Hasler of his sacking on Friday: "He was probably expecting it."

Asked if he expected a legal challenge from Hasler to the sacking, Penn said: "We hope not. That's up to Des."

Yes, you're right. I probably used the wrong words. They believe they have strong evidence and are prepared to go to court with the evidence they have. As such, it is not defamation.

You dont have to be Einstein to work out thats what he was doing - if Des pushes this barrow as well then he better be ulmighty confident that he hasnt had anything to do with anyone moving over - very unlikely it seems - i think he has come out of this quite badly and the board has done the right thing. Everyone had heard Des loved a dollar now its his nickname for life....

He'll fit right in at the dogs, especially if they can coax Money Bill back to the club. Could be a reason why Money Bill signed a 1 year contract with his new rugby team.

Everyone except those at manly saw the massive elephant in the room. The elephant being the doggies.

Funny stuff Manly, way to implode. The true character of a club always shows through. Top shelf as per usual.

WTF

You do realise it has been reported that those who are looking at leaving have a clause in their contract that if Des is not the coach they can leave.

Nah, not at all. We've just won 2 premierships in the last 4 years. Noone expects dominance to last in the modern game. I think it's funny that Bulldogs fans think they've just bought themselves a premiership. They still have a below average squad that needs to be cleaned up over the next few years yet they're expecting success immediately. I believe that Toovey will be a good coach and have said before that if Foran (or anyone else for that matter) wants to go then they should put their hand up and be shown the door. Look what happened when the Roosters tried to buy a premiership with the bulldogs' squad. The problem that they'll have at the dogs is that De$ wants to run the place but Greenberg will take control.

And if he was sacked for breach of contract those clauses were invalidated.

This....we are the premiers and this is what matters at the end of the day - the dogs think they will just turn up with Des and win - LOL:lol:

I find that hard to believe. It would depend on how the contract clauses are written. I do know one contract breach (person A) does not invalidate another clause in a separate contract (person B), unless exactly that scenario is written into the clause of person B.
