What a shit fight!
Fun times!!
Fun times!!
Denial is when you don't accept the facts. I know that the Manly board is dysfunctional so no, I'm not in denial. All you (or I for that matter) know about what is going on with the Manly board is through the media. Largely that same media that takes every opportunity to deathride the Manly club. Slothfield, Ritchie and co can not be trusted, especially when it comes to Manly matters. So you have as much idea about manly as I do about the dogs. Difference is, I know that with the Manly staff going to the dogs, there are going to be more people than there are positions. That means soe people have to go, whether they like it or not.
Dude, you do realise that a fair few of our staff have been poached right ?
Our recruitment officer was poached by newcastle, Justin Holebrook was poached by STGI and I think I read that some others had left.
We have only taken 3 of your staff(not including Des), some of the staff being poached will be the first ever to hold that particularly position at the CBB. Des was hired to overhaul everything and thats what he will do... Thats what we need !
Anyways Im over this, its seriously wasted my whole day of studying.
Good luck with your team.
Don't take it personally. My problem isn't with Manly fans. But horrible decisions shouldnt be rewarded with loyalty. If key players leave over this maybe your club will get angry enough to get rid of the morons who allowed this to happen. So, you want us to lose 2 key players so that we'll only be about 3 or 4 places above the rabbits by the end of the season?
DCE has no get out clause and will be at Manly for at least 2 more years. Foran is also contracted for 2 more years but has a get out clause which will hinge on the breach of contract decision.
Still, Manly has won 8 premierships since Souths' last GF appearance. If I were you, I wouldn't be making too much noise.
And good luck with yours. I hope they can hold the knives back long enough for Des to settle in.
Canterbury-Bankstown baulk at $450,000 asking price for Des Hasler after being offered coach by Manly
Manly boldly asked rivals Canterbury-Bankstown to buy out the final year of Des Hasler's contract to allow him to move directly to Belmore.
But far from being intimidated, Hasler is preparing to "dig in" in an attempt to remain coach at Brookvale next year. The board will meet on Friday aiming to resolve the ugly matter before the weekend.
Hasler was controversially stood down by Manly's board over a series of alleged breaches of contract.
Aware the club faced a payout of up to $450,000 for next season, Manly management bizarrely asked Canterbury for the money in return for allowing Hasler to start at Belmore straight away.
While initially scoffed at, it is understood the Bulldogs may have a change of heart.
"They were looking to punt him without having to pay him," one Bulldog insider said.
"We have Jimmy Dymock here next season and then Des comes. We are comfortable with that. We weren't going to pay another $450,000 because Manly didn't want to cough up for their payout."
Canterbury chief executive Todd Greenberg admitted an approach had come from Manly.
"But we would prefer not to speculate about any of those discussions," Greenberg said.
It's understood the Manly board stood down Hasler for allegedly attempting to poach staff to Canterbury and being disparaging to the board.
Hasler has vehemently denied both accusations.
He is ready for a fight because of his strong desire to lead Manly next season, when the club will attempt to land back-to-back premierships.
Manly players were not commenting on Thursday but the team wants Hasler back to defend their crown.
After Wednesday night's board meeting, Manly gave Hasler 24 hours to answer the accusations - but that deadline passed on Thursday night.
It is known that Hasler wants the exact details from the Manly board about his alleged indiscretions.
Solicitor Danny Eid was drafted in on Thursday to assist Hasler and immediately emailed Manly chairman Scott Penn to ask for more details about the club's accusations.
Eid also claimed the 24-hour deadline was "grossly inadequate".
Staff that have left Manly for Canterbury claim they did so without pressure from Hasler, and that they have had individual negotiations with Greenberg.
Manly board members rang remaining staff members on Thursdayto ask whether Hasler had invited them to leave.
Penn and Hasler were due to hold additional discussions on Thursday afternoon.

Difference between our board and yours. Our board isn't a bunch of self absorbed nuffies, they're actually functional
ha ha, we don't hurt that easily anymore! Nice effort though.
Your Board make Pierce and Co (even Zappia) look good!
Do what we did, piss them off and get the guys that rebuilt your club back on the Board. FFS they did a great job. Even though I hate you lot, I can admit that much.
Agreed. Grant Mayer should never have been let go. He did a great job but it was internal conflict that saw his demise.
Absolutely loving watching this debacle unfold, here's hoping there's plenty more to come. Sue the scumbags Des, nothing like a good court case to derail a season
Is this the same Grant Mayer that was poached from the Bulldogs?

It's hilarious that a sh*t side-supporting doofus like BunniesTurd is trying to have a go at Manly, the most successful team of the past 5 years or so and a side that will still flog Souffs for years to come
Besides Catalans?I have no idea what he did before he was at Manly.
