Manly don't want Hasler in 2012

He was Todd Greenbergs no 2.

Fair enough. Aren't the bulldogs lucky that Mayer didn't take a substantial number of staff with him when he went? The bulldogs are the last club that should be accusing Manly of poaching. I can barely recall a player or staff member moving from the dogs to Manly. On the other hand there have been several go the other way. Bullfrog and Arko had an agreement that they would never take each other's players. Once bullfrog passed away all bets were off as far as the dogs were concerned yet Manly still don't go after Canterbury players (but then looking at their roster, why would they?).

I have no idea what he did before he was at Manly.

Yeah he was... Manly poached him lol

"Mayer tookover as Manly CEO in 2006 and has achieved great success since he has been at the helm. Prior to coming to Manly Mayer was the initial CEO of the French based Super League side Catalans and before that had six years at the Bulldogs in a variety of roles up until 2005. Mayer's departure from the Bulldogs midway through 2005 was one of the major triggers for their sudden decline after winning the title in 2004."

Bullfrog and Arko's agreement went out the window when Arko wanted to kill the Bulldogs off before the Super League War... We got our revenge when he gave the Trophy to the Super League bound Bulldogs in 1995 after defeating Manly:lol::lol::lol:

Any club that signed with Super League should have been killed off.

So they didn't get him from the dogs, nothing wrong with poaching from ESL clubs.

Which players did we poach from Manly?

Super League was a must. Arko had plans of his own. Dogs would have been forced to merge otherwise. Dogs did what was best for themselves and rightly so.

So you poached him from another club! You Manly supporters are acting like little kids... We didn't poach Hasler, he came to us after you puppets didn't extend his contract!!! It's Manly's fault and now you got to pay for it. When a coach leaves a club... He usually takes HIS SUPPORT STAFF...

who was poached from Parra

Parra have more juniors than they can ever offer contracts to. Hodkinson wasn't poached, he was offered a contract at a time when he wasn't being offered a contract at Parra. Same goes for several other ex-Parra players that are now premiership winners at manly. David Williams was working behind a bar and contemplating giving footy away when Manly offered him a contract. Are you going to accuse Manly of poaching him too?

how about we start with 2010, Hodkinson.

And if you want to go pre-1995 (ouwet suggested the agreement was in place until then), Martin Bella in 1993.

So you came up with that massive list of 2 players in the last 20 years all by yourself... props to you sir

What do you expect? All the Parra juniors that can't get a gig in first grade just have to give the game away?

As for the part in bold, yes, they did.

Regarding this situation. Well seriously I'm finally very happy. Happy with today's decision to sack Dessie and promote Geoff Toovey to full time coach, Now Manly can move on from this crap and consolidate their position as an NRL leader. With Des at the helm under this kind of controversy, the season for the Sea Eagles would have become a circus... it's already a shambles and that is the fault of the board. It's time to right the ship and today is the beginning.

No matter what your thoughts are, the handwriting on the wall says that Kelly Egan, Noel Cleal, Dave Warwick & Jess Ivers all are now coincidently going or gone to the Bulldogs from Manly in either administration or player development roles. Personally it's a great shame because I was a big fan of Kelly, Dave and Jess especially but that is beside the point.

One switching is coincidence, cool, but four of them switching over to sandy shores of Lakemba... and now suggestions that Foran will be brought over by Des to Canterbury, all while Dessie was still set down to be the Manly coach in 2012? It reads as unethical, it sounds dodgy, and also appears that Manly had a good case to end their terms with Des "the supercoach" Hasler. I've had a great time with Des, I think he is truly the best of the current coaches going around. And I'm sad it ended this way, but once Hasler pulled the trigger he created a difficult and almost unworkable situation, and that's the bottom line.

Bye Bye Des, I am a proud Manly Man, You are now part of our history, grateful, so very grateful as I am for the success, it is time for everyone to look to the future. It's time this sideshow was put to bed, not only for Manly but for the good of Jim Dymock and the good of the game as a code. It is time for the era of Geoff Toovey. Best of luck to everyone.
