Always happy to get laughs. Hopefully it was as funny as seeing a grown man in an Ironman fancy dress costume.I just read this. But LOL.

Well that's kinda my point in a way. The entire exercise of supporting this team is trivial. And it's things like this, when they happen enough, that tend to wake you up to that fact.I see your point but it just amazes me how melodramatic some of you guys get over the most trivial things!

yep....absolute scandal :sarcasm:
Louis' right of course, but you could post that pic on just about every thread in this forum. The whole game is pointless entertainment for consumption. The illusion that it's something more seems to be falling away
If the Nrl were smart the salary cap could actually be used to address most of your points above regarding player musical chairs and lack of tribalism ... Smarter and better cap discounts for local juniors making it to first grade and also for long serving players would see clubs and players more willing to invest time into long term associations. The thing is, the target audience isn't the same as it was in the glory days.
It's just one empty stadium after another, and the salary cap has well and truly eroded any tribalism (what the game, and our club, was built on).
The traditionalist approach isn't working. It doesn't sell out stadiums, doesn't get kids interested, doesn't bring in money. How can you expect young people to have the feeling of ownership of their club, with the game of player musical chairs the salary cap has resulted in?
There's no real local derbies anymore, because only a small percentage of players that play in them have that personal connection. Clubs are just franchises now, to think otherwise is in contradiction to how the NRL has made it.
There's bigger fish to fry than a one-off superhero promotion.

However although the NRL have made very small steps down this path, the truth of he matter is the salary cap under its current form penalises clubs for long term investment , and is simply aiding those clubs looking for quick fixes regarding success...
I have an idea for another round promo.....inspired by last weekend's Sexpo. Can feature teams who missed out on the Marvel superhero round....
Golden Shower Sharks
Bukkake Bulldogs
Rimjob Rabbitohs
Gangbang Broncos
Tittyf*ck Titans
