So Midley gets no credit for a good signing but all the blame for a non-signing...

At least you acknowledge there are always mitigating circumstances with these things, which is really what I'm getting at. As a result you can work it any way you want to suit your argument. You could lay all the blame at Midley's feet, but that fails to recognize any part that others may be playing in this situation. Their manager, other clubs are playing a part in this just like Korbin played a part in Tariq coming here.

Pretty hard for Midley to get a win when all his signings are supposedly no-brainers that are just black-and-white.

Mate, what are you even going on about? You can bring up whatever mitigating circumstances you want to take the heat off Mids.

At the end of the day though we have a CEO that the players don't respect enough to even bother talking to before signing with another club. That wouldn't happen anywhere else. Even if they didn't care for their CEO they'd still have enough respect to inform him before signing a contract when they knew he was awaiting their response at the very least in fear of the ramifications. This is the same CEO that a player didn't respect enough to bother telling he was running off to Greece.

We can sit here and blame the players for not respecting Midley, but at the end of the day you have to put someone in charge that warrants respect. This is the same bloke that seems to be finding everything out even after us. Is that really the type of person you want running the club?

The club is a mess at the moment and struggling no doubt. I don't deny that he's had to deal with a lot, but frankly he's just not equipped to handle it. We have no idea what we're doing and the other more proactive clubs know it and are pouncing.

Love to know how much the other 2 have been offered if Sione will earn 450k a year.

And I agree with noname. They should have been locked up a while ago. Dogs didn't waste any time signing a 19 yr old Klemmer for 330k a year and stealing Lichaa for a similar amount. They know how to get it done.

Agree with this mate.

That said there is a few forums I've seen with a bloke for months been saying this is happening. The boys all went to the club and facilities months ago.

Some interesting facts he has stated.

They were seriously trying to get over for 2015 and infact before July 2014.

The manager is very very close with the Bulldogs board/club.

The 1.8mil money is no where close to accurate and massively inflated.

Gidley is trying to use the media to put pressure on the kids to pull out and have not really said half the crap he has.

He could be full of it though he said months ago this was going to happen.

I brought up the mitigating circumstances because they are right there in the articles. Mids has been working on this for weeks. He agreed to terms with their manager. You can say it should have been sorted to the cows come home but life is rarely that simple. What we do know for a fact is he was trying to get it over the line. You can do absolutely everything right (and I'm not saying Mids did) and still circumstances beyond your control throw your plans out the window. For example the manager decides they can get more money after all the hype they received at the end of the season, the brothers panic despite deep down wanting to stay in Newcastle, whatever...

You can ignore these and just lay all the blame at Mids' feet, that's fine, and it's clear we're not going to agree, but ultimately you're just speculating.

I'm betting it's not too far off though. If Lichaa and Klemmer have been handed approx 330K a year then Sione will be getting that and possibly more.

Dissapointing for sure, however, four year deals starting from 2016 for three outside backs who are young and incredibly inexperienced? If the contracts are even as close to as lucrative as reported, even taking into account the brothers talents, then the Bulldogs are going to get burnt by at least one of these deals. Long term contracts with decent coin for talented kids (who have really achieved next to nothing so far) is the easiest way to ensure they never reach their potential. That is assuming any of the DTs speculation is even close to accurate.

How did it even come to this? We stupid or something? Isn't it logical to sign up even DECENT youngsters on deals before they hit first grade? Why wait till the whole world knows they are good?

Where's aquaduck at? He seems to always be in the know when it comes to this manager and the boys.

Just in case anyone is wondering, one of the Canterbury Leagues Club's directors, George Coorey, is also a Director of Justsportz Management Services PTY LTD, the same company that Haddad works for. Coorey's brother Arthur is vice-president of the Canterbury Leagues Club and both have been influential figures at Canterbury for years.

The problem with signing these brothers as a package is all 4 of them are very similar players. Sione maybe the best of them, but I haven't seen anything so far to suggest he'll be a superstar of the game. He'll be a Karmichael Hunt/William Hopotate sort of player. Mature for his age with leadership qualities.
So throwing big bucks so early on is kinda silly

Well that may explain a lot but not why Gids wasn't aware of this potential danger.

I am also wondering whether the brothers could legally question whether their manager is acting in their best interest. Also what does the NRL think of this.........

Its a tough choice.. Stone or Hasler?
Maybe all 4 brothers want to develop their game under Hasler..

If you read a few posts before you said this I mentioned that the manager is very close with the Board/Club.

I have a mate who's told me a fair bit about this for a while now.

Thought he might of been bs'ing. Seems not.

But are all four brothers going to be playing first grade together at the Bulldogs????? Are they going to clean out their centre pairing to ensure they get their 'Burgess' piece of history??? Not going to happen.

It's not secret info though. Out there for all to read if they care to find it. It's not bs.

Yeh he mentioned this about 3-4 weeks ago. I thought he was bsing.

I listed pretty clearly what he said.

Good news is the figure is no where near whats reported.

I don't think all 3 will play first grade in 2016. Perhaps 2 if they don't pull out. Remember Peter has stayed with the Dragons.

Pat may be a bit off yet.

In 2016 if what I'm hearing is true our backline would be Sione, Morris, Morris, Lafai, Chanel would be fighting it out with Rona as Perrett will retire, Thompson is off contract as is Loko & Stanley.

At which stage both the Morris boys would be towards the end of their career and opening the window for Chanel and potential Pat.

I find that very hard to believe. Sione must be on close to 330K or more.
