?They were distraught about it,? Gidley claimed.
?We were having a chat about everything and then they just came out with: ?We?ve signed something?.
?I?d been waiting for a reply from their manager to our most recent offer for them so it blindsided me a bit.?

Kidley should get his shit together. I dont want a CEO who get f**king blindsided a bit
The interesting point is that their manager was involved with the Bankstown JRLFC which would have very strong affiliation with the Bulldogs.
I wonder whether old loyalties are trying to deliver the brothers to the Dogs at the expense of everyone else.
If you take the quotes at face value, it does seem like the manager isn't dealing straight with the club.
Honestly I just want those two muppets in Midley and Hagan out. How can we make it happen?
I'm at the point where I figure if the boys have signed elsewhere, let them go. It's ridiculous we've actually let it get to a stage where we now have to try and change their minds.
It's a massive kick in the guts given the time and work we've put into them and I thought they were better than that...but frankly what's done is done. The way I see it, the confirmation they've signed anything from the Dogs is all I need.
People continue to ignore that Midley has been trying to get this sorted for weeks.
Look I don't want to come across as someone blindly defending our admin because I have my doubts about them myself but I think in this case people are just looking for the first reason to blow up at them. When actually what we've heard about this story so far suggests that Midley has been trying to get this over the line for a while. We even agreed to their manager's terms a few weeks ago.
Sounds like they panicked and signed with a Dogs without basically anyone's knowledge. Apart from tying them down in Midley's office until they sign what should we have done?

It's plain old incompetence whatever way you look at it. Yes, Midley has been trying to get it over the line for months and yet he wasn't able to...with a bunch of kids that from all reports never wanted to leave.
What other CEO would let himself get "blindsided" and have 3 players sign elsewhere without his knowledge? This just wouldn't happen elsewhere. Other CEOs would be in the know, or at the very least would have enough respect from the players to not sign elsewhere without consulting him.
Ok, again you're kind of just ignoring what evidence we've been presented with so far and just continuing with the 'it should already be sorted' line, which doesn't really get us anywhere. But anyway, for the sake of argument let's look at it from a different perspective:
Tariq Sims. The club was a disorganised mess around this time with ownership issues and Bennett leaving. It is a deadset miracle that we were able to sign anyone during this period let alone someone who if not for injuries would surely have played Origin by now.
Does Midley get a massive rap for this signing?
What do you blokes believe would have been a generous offer from Newcastle for Sione per year???
