Just had a look at the stats from last nights game. Any top 8 team with stats like ours last night wins that match against the Roosters, really exemplifies how impotent our attack is IMO. Seriously I can’t believe Brooks, off his current form is prepared to stay at the Tigers. You put him in that Melbourne squad and he’d be pretty close to the best half in the game. Our back line is useless.

The one thing that is quite certain is that we are gonna finish 9-12. May well be time for Maguire to start giving some Canterbury Cup and development players a run in the big show. Really need to find wingers and centres desperately before the start of next season. This is where the top 30 system is a crock, really limits the ability of the coach to test the lesser lights.

The service from the current number 9 is way too slow. The defence is already up and in our face before the ball is passed from the ruck

I don’t think it’s the 9, it’s the the 2,5,1 you watch the other sides pushing out of the 20 the wingers run straight and hard, generally gets defences going backwards and allows the forwards to roll forward and gives you the ascendency in the wrestle too when defence is on the back foot. Our wingers are treacherous crabs. Run 20m sideways and get bundled back 6 metres in the tackle. It’s a critical part of our game that kills us every week. I give Thompson a pass in this area but only just at least everynow and then he makes a decent gain and at time looks like he is going to break the line.

I think that game showed where we are at. We have some good players in our team but we need some guys to improve. The comments above in relation to Marsters and Thompson are spot on. I can't believe Thompson butchered that try. That was Marsters best game and it had too many flaws in it. If he was a gun player - a better kicker and a better centre - then we'd be a lot better.

Our outside backs do need to be more of a threat.

Im actually pretty impressed by where we are at.

Last week we beat the team coming third, this week we pushed the team coming second.

All this with exactly the same shit team we have been running out for years.

I was concerned that last night was going to blow out our for and against and it didnt.

This team is over achieving based on "talent" in the squad. We arent going to win the comp at least until Madge turns over the roster, which is a while away. Im just glad hes got them competing and honestly with all the shit this year IF we make the finals we have over achieved.

Roosters played pretty flawless too. They had a high completion rate and the penalty count was low which made it a fast, free flowing game

Was a pretty high quality match and Roosters had to be at close to their best to beat us which is nice for a change

Reckon there are many harsh critics on here - outside of Farah's stupid 3 tackle kick which change the momentum of the game; they all had a dig & after the full time siren the rorters knew they had played in an extremely hard game of league.

Jesse Arthars, Brent Naden, Enari Tuala, Brad Takairangi and Hymel Hunt. Would be good for a few years until TommyTalau or Zac Cini is ready to play first grade and we also need deep in Canterbury Cup

Thompson should have gone himself and scored. Marsters should have caught a late pass and done more plus his goal kicking isn't good enough. That kick was terrible though.

We were good though. It was very impressive. We have a good team to build around. We just need some class in the outside backs. Benji might retire and based on his performances this year we will miss him.

Of course Thommo should have gone himself, but you have a nano second to decide; who here has never made a wrong call in a game of footy or life for that matter.

He had a brillant game bar two errors - the pass & the 40-20. It happens.

Benji still attempts to tackle like a 7 year old but gives 100%; no blame of him.

Thompson was great. It's more that those plays need to be made if we want to be a top team. We need to be able to knock the Roosters off in that scenario and we were only a couple of plays off doing that. We were close.
