It's very hard to judge objectively.
Serious questions though
1) Who in our 17 is ranked in the top 8 in their respective positions?
2) Do you think we have a better roster that the Roosters? Has AOB got more to work with than the Super Coach Robinson?
Honestly I'm just not buying into this argument at all. It's not a cattle problem and AOB defenders over the years have tried to make it about that. Here's some thoughts:
- Good coaches make good players. See: Craig Bellamy.
- Players that leave our club get better elsewhere, with a few exceptions but as a rule this is the case.
- Players that come to our club get worse. Again, not a 100% rule, but a definite trend line. How many recruits have we had that actually got better here in the past 5 years?
- Our football has been horribly ugly during the entirety of AOBs tenure outside of the mythical 10 week period we enjoyed.
- This is the most critical point by far. Even if we don't "have the cattle" - the cattle I do see on the field can play a lot better than they are. A good coach will get whoever he is coaching to play to their potential or close enough to it. Even if that potential is limited. We're not even playing at 10% of our potential. We can't even hold the f**kin ball. Cameron Ciraldo has a team full of discarded utility players at the top of the ladder.
I don't care how good or bad our roster is. It can play better than it is. This is dogshit and it's a familiar brand of dogshit because I've been expected to swallow it for half a f**kin decade now.
