This is one of those games where you can play your best footy of the year and still lose like 30-12. The game can be in the balance at like 18-12 and roosters could score 2 late tries they are that kind of team. If we follow the sharks blueprint from last night. It all comes down to effort in defence and frustrating them with simple attack but with a much needed better kicking game so we can build pressure and frustrating them. I like playing good teams when they have been on a streak nothing to lose cos most teams will also have a loss here. With Reynolds out kinda has the feel of last years round 1 clash we just have to try and be with a try or less up til the 80th min.

People saying Cordner is simply a solid first grader must be watching a different Cordner than I am; he's a gun.
As for Marsters being superior to Manu - I guess Manu doesn't give away penalties for standing 2m in front of the kicker or miss penalty goals from dead in front of the sticks, so there's always that...

Cordner is just a meter eater, like Woods he is a stat man. Most of his runs are on the 3rd/4th tackle AFTER a quick play the ball or something. He doesn't have an offload in him or anything else special in him either like the modern day backrower.

He would still be in the top half of backrowers in the game but not top 3 imo.

Like Vic said if he played for an average team like the tigs he would drop down a notch most likely

I reckon Madge is being smart by not putting Gamble into the side for this match. The Roosters are our bogey team and even if they weren't defending premiers, they would still towel us up. If Gamble was in the side when that happened, it would have been the second time he'd be dumped after one game and he'd cop all the blame. I'd love to see Gamble get a run, but not against the Roosters.

Even though we'll most likely lose I dont mind the matchup with them. Last year we showed that heart and effort can get us over the line if the opposition have an off day. I'd rather play the Roosters than the Raiders if I'm being honest haha

Garner being a liability at times in defence maybe hindering Gambles selection into fg at 5/8.
I would like to see him blooded into the team in the centres as he looks to have more pace and attacking skill then our current centres.

Liddle comes in. I reckon that is a good decision. He can give us some punch off the bench. Garner is also on the bench though which makes the bench a bit smaller.

I think that though is pretty close to our best team. Let's hope they can make the game competitive.

Taylor and McQueen on the edges versus Cordner and Crichton is a joke. Their backs also kill us.

It's going to be tough.
