What would you expect when he plays next to Her Majesty Creagh?

Prior had his chance to prove his toughness with Cooper and Tamou giving him something to think about. His response, an elbow to the head of a little bloke.

He's a fairy.

Why grade it? Do we want to send a message or are we going soft again. Should be ungraded, no question about it. Let the judiciary decide.

Because we have a grading system, and a precedent to measure it against.

Another grade 5 striking was Trent Barrett in 05 or 06 against that Irish bloke Carney who played for Newcastle. Fairly similar cocked elbow to the head, although he was carrying the ball at the time at least. If I recall that one wasn't even penalised on the night - despite Carney being unable to play the ball and time being stopped - and was only picked up after a channel 9 technician saw it in an unshown replay and sent it to the NRL!

With this one, I think people are going a little overboard. This is no hoppa type incident, which is what it would need to be to demand a rest-of-season suspension. It was perfectly inline with the Stewart incident and should be treated as such.

I see it as a Clint Newton style elbow when he played for the Knights and I am certain he was referred. There will be way too much pressure on the Match Review Committee or whatever they call them, to grade it. Like it or not, being a star player does come into it and I agree, we don't want players taking players out of games, which is what Prior did.

I am expecting 8-12 weeks. Maybe closer to 8 being a clean skin but I don't think it should come into it if its deemed intentional.

If Matt Prior is allowed to play again this season after that, I'll deadset give it away.

That was the lowest act I can remember seeing on a football field in a long time. He was clearly pissed off, and deliberately tried to injure Thurston.

I'd be happy if that jerk was given more than just this season off. He has no place in rugby league.

@Frank: this is the sentence I was referring to.

Pretty sure he only got 4 weeks didn't he? Stewart's was definitely worse.

Could be. He missed the rest of the season and I don't think played in the finals but it was very late in the season.

It was a f**king horrendous elbow though. Raised, cocked point of the elbow right in the head.

Prior's was most definitely bad, but seemed more reckless than intentional like the Newton one being talked about

i thought this was the most well refereed game i've seen this year. Very free flowing and they made the right call with sending him off

It was really bad, but there've been worse. You can't excuse it but i couldnt see him getting more than 8 weeks for it.
