Elliott needs to have a game plan that will get the most out of the strengths of his roster and expose the weaknesses of the opposition.

Even in my wildest dreams, I cannot begin to imagine that he did that in the schallacking we got on the weekend.

I don't think any coach goes out there to lose, but Elliott doesn't seem to be able to build relationships with his players, and in particular, his senior players.

Rugby League is no different to any other business. You need to be able to manage, and get the best out of your people/team.

I've got a feeling that Donald Trump might have dumped Elliot pretty early in the piece in the filming of 'The Apprentice".

It amazes me that a bloke who follows the Panthers doesn't know Leary had nothing to do with hiring Elliott.

Yeah because...you know he had absolutely NO idea at all...give me a break.

What...so Matthews just decided "you know what...Elliot...thats a good name..i'll just sign him"...my arse.

Leary had input...and if he says he didn't...he's a bloody liar. So it amazes me that your so gullible.

Just goes to show, Penrith have done a good job at something, even if that is distancing itself from a massive f**k up successfully.

On topic, I'd love Flanagan as assistant and Kearney as top dog. With our juniors that'd be a premiership waiting to happen. But I think Flanagan will be hanging out for head coach role by now. First step is shafting Elliott. Actually, first step is finding a good judge of our situation and needs within the trainwreck front office. THEN sack Elliott, then get good replacement, otherwise the cycle repeats.

What was the expectation for the team this year? I thought the side was going ok tbh. I know the Canberra result was poor, but on balance it hasnt been too bad a year? How good can you expect to go after finishing last?

I don't know that the hatred towards elliott as coach necessarily has anything to do with our position on the ladder.

It's about gameplans that stiffle the natural flare of players like Jennings.

It's about Elliott playing favourites with players like Smith

It's about poor interchange of players during a game.

It's about his treatment of players like Sammut.

I think the general consensus would be. Penrith are the envy of the competition in terms of junior talent. Especially at the moment. And yet for the last 5 years we have done nothing. Also we've come to the realisation that Elliott isn't the right type of coach for our team, and instead of adapting, Elliott merely persists pigheadedly.

And yes, perhaps if we hadn't released all our quality halves (Gower, Wallace)/ if we had a coach who managed them correctly, we might think we are deserving of a much loftier ladder position.

So getting home from work this afternoon I see the western weekender sitting on the driveway and I pick it up.

As I wander up to the front door I start reading Daryl Brohman's outrageous column and he mentions that Elliott is under pressure and follows it up with some names his heard whispered.

Daniel Anderson and Graham Murray.

Now I have quite a few concerns about either of these blokes, although both would probably be an improvement on Elliott.

But the third name he mentioned just blew my mind.

Royce Simmons.

If there is even an ounce of truth to what Brohman says about Simmons even being considered the only question I have is. How much more f**ked in the head can our management get. Simmons was a great clubman and gave us alot on the field but he gave us 7 years of nothing as a coach.

My god.

You guys have some of the best young talent in the NRL (stating the obvious).

For the love of god, get rid of your coach before the young fellas take off, get cut or have their confidence totally shattered by a coach who wants to turn them all into second-row robots.

It's about gameplans that stiffle the natural flare of players like Jennings (Phil Graham, William Zillman).

It's about Elliott playing favourites with players like Smith (Kris Kahler, David Howell)

It's about poor interchange of players during a game.

It's about his treatment of players like Sammut (Michael Monaghan, Mark McLinden).

It's like rewinding a train crash and watching it over and over again.

We say that everyday until we realised we dont have control over that.
Maybe that idiot Leary will see the pain the fans and players are going through and sack Elliot, Adamson and himself.

That'll be the next thing. We'll finally get rid of Elliott. The people of Penrith will be dancing in the street and a citywide public holiday will be called. Then the knuckleheads will appoint another idiot.

I wouldn't believe anything Brohman says. This is the guy that told us Craig Wing had signed with the club and that Reni Matua had agreed to terms. He should just stick to Lowes commercials. If there is a change and it's a big if my money would be on Steve Georgalis getting the job. I myself would prefer Shane Flanagan and I wouldn't be upset if they gave it to Brett Kenny and he has coached a lot of these juniors that are stepping up.

Wing was qouted in a story before the start of the season saying, basically, he was within a bees penis of signing with penrith and it was only a last minute call from Russell that stopped him signing
