There are some real primary school kid types on this forum. We lost to Penrith and Mary copped it from pillar to post, I am talking an absolute hammering. Then we beat Canberra and the Titans and Mary get's signed for three years and the same posters bagging Mary are now saying we have a bright future and we will be contenders next year. The best one I've heard was "we have a three year window (of opportunity to win a premiership) with this group" :lol:. We have a three year window of missing the finals under Mary is about all.

Thanks PM ,that system has been in for a couple of years now ,i guess i'm stuck in2010.

I agree without some significant changes ,we will be talking about the same thing this time next year.

RE your comment above I do HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE that we improved under McGREGOR , BUT I THINK YOU MEANT ACKNOWLEDGE,I also acknowledged that fact in one of my reply posts to one of your comments earlier,you must have missed it as i imagine you only read the good parts. They haven't improved enough for the euphoric responses on here ,thats for sure.

As far as calling me a troll i much prefer doom maker it sounds more mysterious .

How about we look at this in another way...
1/ if more of you so called fans showed up to games, it would be quiet possible that we wouldnt need the revenue to take home games away.... and
2/ instead of blaming doust, young, mary, and the entire club for not signing every player to ever come off contract, how about instead we aknowledge that they have kept B.Moz, Nighty, Creagh, Merrin, JDB, etc etc as well as signing an international halfs pairing, plus the Dooges, plus Thompsom, plus Beale etc etc
Yeh guys they have also signed some duds, but with a salary cap to play by its inevetable that some cheap signings will be duds, happens to every team!!!
Widdop, Benji, Dugan, Thompson, Beale, Cooper, Frizzell, Mata'utai, thats some pretty impressive signings if you ask me.... plus, if we can land Kasiano next year, then that makes a really impressive list of signings!!
Every team signs duds, give Doust some credit for not paying overs for duds, the Groats and Alamoi's came cheap, and yes he f@cked up with Hunt and Harrison, but shit happens sometimes.
He got us Bennett, fluke or not i dont care, he got us Dugan, again fluke or not is not important, we have him...
And.... He got us what we needed to win a grand final. I finally got to see the red V win a grand final !!!
So f#ck what anyone says, i say thanks Mr Doust, and i know we havnt won it every year since, but fact of the matter is every year out of 16 teams only one will win it, part of the game.
Mary as coach??? Tell me sooks, who else was available? Jason taylor? Brian smith? Tim sheens? PLEASE!!! Mary shits on all of them, Taylor is too far out of the game, Smith, well his record speaks for itself, and sheens, he will retire in a few years and will be remembered as the guy responsible for the dramas at the tigers!!! Mary has the players supporting him, i agree 3 years was overboard but its happened, how bout we just support our team moving forwards???

A lot of good points but Taylor has been assistant at the Rorters so is in touch with the game. I still think he'd be just as much risk as Mary though he has a lil more experience. However there have been several rookies that have got the top job over the last couple of years so you have to wonder why Taylor didnt pick up one of those jobs? Someone in the forum said he didnt want the top job as he wants more time with his family and if thats true it maybe not have even been worth people throwing up his name.

Personally I think Mary was the best available at the time and it's not like doust had not tried to land Bennett at $1 million a season and went very close to getting Belamy last year. When it comes down to it the decision was a personal choice by both coaches.

Mary is here to stay so lets firstly hope he is successful but either way lets hope the whinging stops ffs

*Wins against weak opposition, forwards look great.

*losses against the better teams, all these losses were through the middle and our forwards could not contain the middle and in attack the forwards were well contained, giving no space to what is an exceptionally good backline.

*Need props- I think so, very much so.....

I found that comment from Macgregor concerning. Before Broncos were down to 10 men, we offered very little in attack. We only got back into the game when they were a man down. Au mau and Thompson made some good breaks last night but where were the players trailing them???

IMHO our defence is still poor. Au mau was again found wanting last night. Personally I do think we still are a few forwards short of a finals team.

This defense will simply not stand up to the top teams in the comp, they can't do it- chase points all the time which are scored too softly by opposing teams.
