Membership Packs

If the delays and issues were isolated to this year you might cut the membership office a little bit of slack given the fact that it took so long to determine exactly where the Eels were playing their home games this year, but when the same problems occur year after year it's time to make some changes.

Would be interesting to know what kind of system they use to record/allocate seats to the season ticketholders. After all the complaints and problems I just have this vision in my mind of the membership team sitting in front of a massive picture of the grandstand and hand writing peoples names on seats :D

Maybe im the only merkin who thinks so but i reckon itd probably be a hard job

How hard could it be? I'd say the majority of the season ticket holders would probably retain their existing seats, so you work the rest around those existing members.

Then again, if it were that easy, you wouldn't think we'd have problems year after year.

Going to be much easier for the membership team when we reach 18-20k members. No-one will want to move because all the good seats are taken, and all the newbies will just get the left-over corner positions.

Junior Elephant got one of those before Christmas. Was a good deal and a cheap way to introduce her to the club.

I'm still waiting for a call back from about 2009.

I looked into changing my seats if there was a better option available. got a call that i missed on a friday arvo, called them back on monday and left a message. They called back on wednesday offering different seats. I was out so i couldn't see if they were better than my current ones so i asked if they could hold them for me and i will call them back in an hour. They called me back to see if i wanted them an hour later.
I also had to split my tickets up to pay them by different methods as i had a family + 1 previously and had no troubles doing that either. All up nothing but good experiences with them

My wife said to me on the weekend "the Eels junior membership is terrible" so I asked what she meant and she said that someone from her work is a Bulldogs supporter and they got their kids pack already and it was really good so she went online and checked ours........she was very disappointed......

Hopefully with Ken on board that will all drastically improve next year along with membership renewals.

Got my membership pack today.
Cap is good. Bag is ok. Not sure what the f**k the Eels Superman cape is meant to be though????
Also, Jumpsuits pack didn't arrive, even though they were renewed online at the same time.

The word is that Ken was looking for a new Manager or Memberships, one can only hope that they are good and get this stuff storted out. Aparently they are from the Western Bulldogs AFL club.

Furthermore, just about memberships, but one of a different kind.
I purchased a junior WSW membership for Jumpsuit in October. The pack arrived within 3 weeks, with his membership number embroidered onto the cap, along with all the trinkets.
Today, he attended a soccer training camp on the training field outside the stadium, run by Parramatta Council and the Wanderers. Players were there for signings, they had a two hour soccer training skills session and we all had a tour of the change rooms and got to walk down the tunnel and out onto the Stadium pitch, with Wanderers chants being played loudly over the speakers to give the kids a feel of what it is like to be a player. Fantastically organised morning, and all for free. He also walked away with more merchandise and a free Wanderers soccer ball.

The Wanderers are only about 9 months old, and already they are putting the EELS to shame. I spoke to their director of football operations and told him what a great job they were doing. He wanted me to email them and mention it, so he could pass the feedback onto the players, as he said they'd be stoked.

Yeah I am told the Wanders are going great guns, and the winning is helping Suity.

I kind of have the same sort of story. I renewed my Hawks membership in Mid December. Last week I received my Membership pack, including the scarf embroidered with the number of years I have been a member, all that and regular communications via email during the off season including our draft strategies pre draft, makes you wonder why it is so hard for Rugby League clubs or more to the point our Rugby League club.

But let us see what this new membership manager is like.

I agree whole heartedly that they are doing better ... and I have heard similar stuff being done with GWS AFL team.

However (there's always a but), we'll see their level of commitment 10, 20, 30 years on .... it would be a piece of piss to pour money hand over fist into marketing (via memberships etc) in the early establishment days. Hell if we started the Parramatta Eels up today they'd probably put 1000x more effort into it all.

Obviously the club need to lift their game - but its a bit apples and oranges to compare to a start up.
